Mr.Döner — Restaurant in Adenau

One of the worst customer experiences I’ve had in a long time.

I waited at the counter for five minutes to place an order, only to be told — with no signage or explanation — that if I wanted to sit in, I had to order from the table. Then, when I did so, I was told I needed to go back inside and get my own drinks. Total contradiction. No clarity, no logic, and no effort to help.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were cold and dismissive. I was polite and respectful, but I genuinely felt like I was being treated differently — possibly because I wasn’t a local. Whether it was the language barrier or something else, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and indifferent.

To make things worse, my order wasn’t even put through. When I asked about it after waiting, I was met with blank stares and no apology. After sitting and having drinks, I was only then told they don’t accept card — forcing me to leave the venue and find a cash machine. Again, no signage, no warning, just poor communication.

And when the food did come, it looked like it had been thrown on the plate without care. Sloppy, unappetising, and completely off-putting.

Shocking service from start to finish. Avoid this place if you value good food, clear communication, or...

Ok- let me start by saying I’ve been to Mr. Döner many many times and have always loved it. As soon as we arrived today I noticed a difference , the entire vibe was off. I didn’t recognize any of the guys working there and we ordered the doner teller which is my usual order. It used to be served so neatly and it was very delicious. Today it was served in a heaping pile covered in sauce. The taste was not terrible but it was not what I expected. Come to find out - the previous guys who ran it are no longer there and I think it’s now connected to the other kebab place down the street. That all being said - IF you’re not familiar with the top tier quality of the previous Mr. Döner, it’s not an awful place for lunch. But if you’re expecting that old delicious food-you will be let down not only by the food but by the off putting...

Edit 3/23: Eine hohe Sternchenzahl läßt uns ein paar Monate grundsätzlich noch einmal zurückkehren zu schauen, ob sich etwas verändert hat. Waren wir bereits angetan von der Leistung und dem Service wurden wir doch überrascht, denn eigentlich reichen die fünf Sterne nicht (oder ich müßte andere Rezensionen auch noch mal anfassen und nach unten korrigieren). Die Tische wieder peinlich sauber, die Jungs am Pizzaofen und Drehspieß freundlich, aufmerksam und absolut kundenorientiert. Einer Dame am Nebentisch war die Sauce zu pikant. Sofort bot an ihr an, eine andere, mildere zuzubereiten und sie wurde bei jeder Zutat nach ihrem okay gefragt. DAS war ein Service, den wir bislang noch an keinem anderen Ort erleben durften. War Mr. Döner bisher schon unter den Top 10 bei uns, nun teilt er sich den Spitzenplatz nur noch mit einem anderen "Dönerladen", danach kommt dann eine Weile nichts, dann erst der Drittbeste. Warum? Noch nirgends wurde ein "Drehspießteller" derart appetitlich ausgarniert wie hier im Mr. Döner. Frische Salate knnen viele, aber eine derart gelungene Präsentation - die sucht man normalerweise einfach vergebens. Respekt. Danke für das Erlebnis. Und bitte, bleibt so fröhlich wie bisher ;-) Edit 10/22 Dieses mal hielten wir an und gönnten uns ein "Teller"gericht im Laden. Ein Dönerteller sollte es sein. Serviert wurde... ein unglaublich leckeres Essen, sauber und optisch verführerisch angerichtet auf einer Holzplatte, die für Mr. Döner gesondert gebrandet wurde. Wow. Waren wir vom "Döner auf die Faust" schon begeistert, "Innen" topt noch mal alles. Die herzliche Freundlichkeit, das Lächeln der Jungs, die Präsentation des Essens - das alles ließ einen den bis dahin echt mies gelaufenen Tag binnen Sekunden vergessen. Dankeschön für das Zurückbringen unseres Glaubens an intelligentes, freundliches und kundenorientiertes Leben auf diesem Planeten. Empfehlung für Euch? Ja aber sowas von. Uneingeschränkt. Doppelt unterstrichen.
