Pizzeria La Fontana — Restaurant in Adenau

Had a less than ideal experience here.

When we (2 adults) came in the terrace outside was empty, the owner(?) urged us to go inside because of the potential rain, even though the terrace was sheltered from rain. He clearly wanted to fill up the place inside first.

Inside is cozy enough, nothing fancy, which is fine. I ordered a Benediktiner Weizen. When I got it, it was clearly the 0% variety. I asked him if he served me a non-alcoholic one, at which he boldly answered it was a normal beer. It wasn't, not wanted to make a hassle I let it slide.

As a starter we got the Antipasti Misti, which was decent, no complaints.

As a main we had the spaghetti frutti di-mare and gnocchi pesto.

Now I have to say, we paid under €50 for a big starter, 2 drinks and 2 full plates of food, so quantity wise there is nothing to complain about. The quality however was severely lacking.

The gnocchi wasn't made in their kitchen. I doubt the pesto is.

The frutti di-mare was just plain spaghetti drenched in tomato sauce, with some very small mussels and shrimps, straight from a frozen bag, straight from a Lidl freezer.

When we walked out, the sun was shining and people were sitting on the terrace (being served) without a care in the world.

If the waiter was friendly, I would have given this a higher rating. But the rude waiter in combination with the 0% beer and the sub-par food quality, stops me from...

Ein Tipp von einem Einheimischen hat mich und meinen Sohn zum Abendessen hierher geführt. Ruhig gelegen in einem alten Wohngebiet von Adenau oberhalb der Hauptstraße lässt es sich hier entspannt Speisen. Die Einrichtung außen wie innen ist allerdings eher von vorgestern und könnte mal überarbeitet werden.

Außen waren 2 Tische belegt, innen nur einer. Trotzdem war der eine Kellner, der offenbar auch noch andere Aufgaben in Personalunion macht, überfordert. Oder ihm sind seine Gäste einfach egal. Eins von beiden!? Jedenfalls musste ich mehrmals die Initiative ergreifen und mich um Dinge wie Besteck, Ketchup/Majo zu den Pommes, Getränkenachschub und zu guter letzt die Rechnung kümmern. Von selbst hat sich da nichts getan!

Zum Essen: Hatten 2x das Schweinerückensteak vom heißen Stein bestellt. Bedeutet: Rohes, unmariniertes, ungewürztes Fleisch auf nem heißen Stein mit 2 Klecksen Texikana Salsa und zwei Klecksen Kräutermajo für die Beilage (Bratkartoffeln oder Pommes) inkl. Beilagensalat für 15,50 EUR. Italienische Küche sieht anders aus! Die Bratkartoffeln waren alles andere als gebraten, das Fleisch war ok, aber zubereitet hat man es quasi selbst. Der Koch freut sich vermutlich über diese Bestellungen... Also wir waren definitiv das erste und...

Decent atmosphere with acceptable service on a random Wednesday. The food was tasty, but nothing exceptional, location was nice. Overall would recommend, as the pricing is in line with what you get.
