Riva Pizzeria Amberg — Restaurant in Amberg

Excellent ambiance, delicious food, several vegan options, extremely friendly and responsive service. They just need a way to clearly communicate in the kitchen which orders are vegan. We ordered a vegan burger, and the chef put egg on it. It was an honest mistake in communication, I think they actually know what vegan means, but the chef didn't know my order was vegan. They should put vegan items on a different menu, or have a code like V for vegan. Vegetarian items clearly marked, but vegan items are not their own separate menu items, creating room for confusion. We'll go back and try again sometime, and I hope they figure out a process solution for this...

The restaurant is very cute. The staff were very welcoming and made an accommodation for us even though we didn't have a reservation and they were full. We got our food really quick. My husband got the burger and said it was amazing. Myself and the kids got the Margherita pizza. It didn't have a whole lot of taste but the spicy oil made it better. I would have added a little more sauce as it tasted like cheese and bread. Still, overall I would give them another try because everyone was so kind and helpful. Riva is a great local pizzeria with excellent potions for food and drink. The pizza portions range from typical Italian fare to a few more exotic options that are delicious. The inside can feel a bit crowded or loud at times in the colder months, but there is still space between each table to have private conversations and enjoy company. The service is great with friendly workers that strive to make your experience pleasant, even if a little slow on busy days.
