Pension Fuhrmann's Elb- Café — Restaurant in Bad Schandau

We spent 3 nights here and enjoyed our stay very much. ||The owners seemed to be lovely welcoming people, and seemed to really care that their guests are comfortable and happy. ||||The whole area, building and rooms are chocolate box cutesy and, although small, our room had everything we needed with plenty of wardrobe space (could fit our empty suitcases in). The room was spotlessly clean, too. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of options and different fruits each morning.||||Parking was plentiful and free (carpark just across the road, all explained by the host). ||||The location was a great base for sightseeing and hiking: ||- There are several hiking trails that start in Schmilka, I think some lead to the top of the Schrammstein massif (only "think" because we didn't actually get to do the hike - we had intended to do this hike but a thunderstorm forced a change of plans)||- Hrensko is just around the corner (has lovely gorges for boat trips, which lead to a trail to the natural arch at Pravčická brána/Prebischtor)||- Bad schandau is only a few minutes away by car, and areas such as Königstein and the Basteibrücke were also only a short drive away. ||||Overall, we had a lovely stay here and would recommend...

Vorab, bis auf einige kleine Dinge waren wir sehr zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt.||Nette gemütlich eingerichtete Zimmer, die einen sehr sauberen Eindruck gemacht haben. Das Bad ist sehr klein, aber für 2-3 Tage völlig ausreichend, wenn man Körperlich normal gebaut ist. Ansonsten könnte man beim umdrehen im Bad Probleme bekommen ;-). Ist halt kein SPA-Tempel. Leider war es trotz schriftlicher Anweisungen im Bad nicht möglich eine dauerhaft gleichbleibende Wassertemperatur beim duschen einzustellen. Entweder zu heiß oder zu kalt. ||Die von uns verzehrten Speisen und Getränke waren geschmacklich und im Preis - Leistungsverhältnis in Ordnung. Der Service war nett und zuvorkommend. Man hatte den Eindruck das der Service in diesem Laden alles alleine machen mußte und gleichzeitig die Besitzer Ihre eigenen besten Gäste waren. Zumindest unterhielten Sie den Gastraum in einer Lautstärke, so das ein ruhiger Restaurantaufenthalt nicht mehr möglich war. Auf Nachfrage von hereinkommenden Gästen ob auch draußen bedient wird, weil die überlastete Bedienung noch nicht draußen war kam nur ein flapsiges ,, Haben sie keine Zeit" von der ich denke mal Junior Chefin die Ihren hörbaren Spaß am Stammtisch hatte. Im Normalfall erwartet man da ein wenig Unterstützung für die Bedienung, kam aber nicht. Das hatte zur Folge das auch wir auf unseren Nachtisch knapp 35 min warten mußten....||War ja Urlaub, aber wenn man selbst aus der Gastronomie kommt, kann man die Situationen mit den dementsprechenden Entschuldigungen auch sehr gut einschätzen.||Frühstück war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Auch hier gab es gravierende Unterschiede bei der Bedienung an den jeweiligen Tagen. Die Seniorchefin zum einen sehr bemüht um Kommunikation und Gastfreundlichkeit, das ganze Gegenteil die Juniorchefin die bei uns einen lustlosen Eindruck vermittelte. ||Wenn man hier die Kurve bekommt, an den richtigen Stellschrauben dreht, die aufgezeigten Kritikpunkte positiv umsetzt und der Gast wieder komplett im Mittelpunkt steht, hat dieses wirklich schöne kleine Fuhrmann's Elb-Cafe, in super Lage für Wanderer, eine rosige Zukunft vor sich.||Dafür wünsche ich alles Gute!!!||||PS Wenn es die Situation nochmal hergibt, werden wir bestimmt nochmal...
