Overall an OK choice if you want some quick semi-authentic greek food.
Location: Lots of parking space, beer garden with open air seating and lots of indoor seating. All very accessible.
Atmosphere: A mixed bag. Inside, it's a melange of old german bar and new garden hut. Solid old furniture and decoration but cheap looking wooden walls that just won't fit with the occasional greek bust replica or Greece themed pictures. All accompanied with traditional greek music that elevates the atmosphere. If it's sunny, I'd advice to sit outside. The beer garden is in close proximity to greenery. Although it has a more German atmosphere, the food tastes mich better with sunshine and fresh air.
Service: Friendly, efficient and helpful. Didn't have any bad experiences there. Was given a free Ouzo as a send-off. Although, an Ouzo is usually served as an aperitive.
Food: The food was the least positive experience. It wasn't overly bad but also nothing good. The octopus salad was just octopus from the can decorated with vegetables. The meats were grilled well but - like everything else - totally oversalted. The shrimp and squid were fried too long. The tzatziki didn't have an authentic greek taste to it, probably due to the sparing use of garlic and the lack of good greek joghurt. The rice was very wet and leaked water. The galaktoboureko was served with cinnamon, canned whipped cream and vanilla iced cream. The dish itself was too small. Only two small pieces of the galaktoboureko that were too soft and soggy.
All the food was served only minutes after ordering, so it probably wasn't freshly made. This was also reflected in the taste that heavily relied on salt to cover the actual blandness of the food.
Conclusion: Germanized pre-prepared greek food with too much salt in a so-so atmosphere and great service. Not the worst I had but absolutely undeserving of the high rating it has on Google. For a greek non-fastfood dine-in it is very average. Therefore only 3 stars in comparison with other...
Read moreBig portions, classic Greek food, nice atmosphere outdoors. The service was very slow. They had Google contact me later, suggesting that my review was fake. Feeling harrassed by them, I temporarily changed the rating of my overall happiness with them to one star, but thinking about it, I consider it more informative for others to reinstate the original 3-star rating and simply leave away their online tactics. So, if you don’t write a review later and are looking for decent food without expecting anything special, and if you have enough time to wait in case the service is slow, eating there may be...
