Grappolo D'Oro — Restaurant in Bergisch Gladbach

To be honest, the treatment we received on arrival was just plain rude and arrogant! We booked a table for the outside terrace, and on arrival we were told they didn’t have a table and could wait for 30 mins to have the table. The waitress was not accommodating, nor solution oriented. Her attitude was not in the least customer focused...she did not acknowledge the fact they had made the error, leaving us to feel it was our problem

We did stay and sat inside. Having been here previously I can say the food is very very good. The table service was also great, however towards the end of the evening the service fizzled out a little.

As a consolation we had the espressos the house.

My advice to the owners is: not every guest is a regular, but every guest is a guest, so treat them with a little more...

Well it starts with a detour. And this place is worth it. We are used to the Italian restaurant at Schloss Bensberg, but for the second time now in 2 years this place delivers. Great service, with up to date staff that knows their menu, the wines and the timing in which you want your food. The calamari was fresh (where is the sea) and piping hot, just as you like it. Pasta was as you would expect it at the Waldorf Astoria in Rome, but then truffeled to the hills. Steak out of this world. Our sweet dish at the end could have been a little less portion size wise....but hey.....I was just upset that I could not finish my Zabaglione! Compact wine menu but the person in charge knows what they are doing. All in all a fabulous detour for us...

This is the first time that I visited this up market Italian restaurant in its new location. So, you can see. It's been a while!

I parked for free out the back of the restaurant. I found my friend who was already established for our lunch together and who had already ordered a 7,90 € bottle of Pellegrino! Wow!

I looked at the prices which were all impressive and decided to go for veal liver. My friend had the "Brasato" beef. Both dishes were well presented. and tasted delicious. My didn't succumb to the temptation to order any wine but we did have Espressos at the end of the meal.

This place is nicely done out and you can rely on great quality Italian food. But the prices? We paid 80€ including...
