Bellini — Restaurant in Berlin

The waiters were extremely polite, skillful and comforting during our visit. However, I have eaten better food. It is definitely enjoyable, but it is only "OK". The appetizer came with dry bread and the main dish was lacking of cheese (in terms of taste). Additionally, the prizes seemed to be very high and American Express credit cards were not accepted. Card payment in general was provided though. In total, it is a restaurant which i would visit again, especially, since it is the only good Italian restaurant in that area. But the quality may be better...

Came on a Friday evening. Was very empty and had our choice of tables outside.

My wife tried the Hugo spritz. It was tasty but felt like a smaller serving than usual.

As antipasti we had the Malfatti - 2/5. For entrées we had Fetuccini Salmone - 3/5 and Penne Punte - 3/5.

The Zabaione for dessert was too eggy for my wife - 2/5

All the dishes were okay. Nothing special but not bad.

Service was somewhat friendly but very slow and not attentive even though there were hardly any other customers.

Wir waren Silvester von 18:00 bis 20:00 Uhr da. Die Pasta+Lachs+Hummersauce war so schlecht, dass ich noch bis ins neue Jahr davon aufstoßen mußte. Die Hummersauce (kenne ich gut, habe ich auch schon selbst gemacht) war ein einziger Ölhaufen. Die Tomaten waren auch alt und ungenießbar.

Dazu kam der kritikunfähige Service. Wir haben das Essen nicht zurückgeben (hatten noch eine Vorspeise und waren unter Zeitdruck), nur den öligen Lachs rausgepickt. Als wir dem Service unsere Kritik mitteilten, wurde uns, auch in einem unmöglichen Ton gesagt, dass wir selber Schuld sind??? Da wir nicht gleich reklamiert haben???, allen anderen schmeckt die Hummersauce immer so gut??? Der Service ist nett (manchmal schon etwas zu schleimig) bis Kritik kommt, damit kann nicht umgegangen werden und sofern irgend möglich wird die Schuld dem zahlenden Gast zugeschoben. Ein kleines Getränk (wie bei vielen italienischen Restaurants üblich) bei der Rechnung gab es auch nicht.

Gut, dass Berlin eine große Auswahl an guten Restaurants hat. Denn das Bellini werden wir nicht mehr beehren und auch nicht...
