Satiated & Pampered
In the twilight we didn't immediately find the entrance: on the rear side via the terrace. The establishment is not really big either: grosso modo an enlarged living room. Our visit was impromptu and we had made no reservation; nevertheless the welcome was a cosy blanket in spite of my friend's hoody and my jeans. Despite the rush hour we didn't have to wait long for service. Speaking of service: some waitresses execute their work with passion. So friendly, humorous, patient, quick and professional is almost untypical of Berlin. Equally wholehearted was the preparation of our food: the portion of goose for my friend was as liberal as it was tasty. No lack of choice for me as a staunch vegetarian either: the goat's cheese with tomato-ginger chutney (appetizer) was a revelation and the ravioli con zucca e noci melting on the tongue. Choosing tiramisu as a dessert, you can expect a generous portion instead of the usual short supply you get elsewhere in Prussia's capital. The service was efficient without giving us the feeling, they wanted to get rid of us. Just as well: I enjoy lingering in a restaurant. The bill was not exactly hoody & jeans, but this is of quite another level than the ordinary pizzeria. I will definitely come back and am already looking forward to a double portion of that ravioli with lake view on the terrace in summer, again with a glass of Latin-American white wine. Drop by in Wilhelmstadt on...
Read moreWhat a lovely place for dinner and a sunset! Great service, a warm, locals kind of vibe, a very large outdoor terrace overlooking Scharfe Lanke, and very decent food and wine. It's not a super refined dining experience, but the menu selection is quite vast with what I would classify as German-sized portions (so a bit too much for us, but likely absolutely ideal for most people!). The food is presented with care and the quality is definitely quite high. Go on a nice day and bring your appetite as well as an open energy to take in everyone else's enjoyment. I would say your chances of having a lovely evening are nearly 100%.
Thank you for a wonderful evening in late July, Ristorante Il Passetto. We will...
Read moreWe had such a wonderful experience at Il Passetto on the 29.06.2025. The setting is beautiful. We sat outside in a shaded area with a lovely view of the lake.
The service stood out just as much as the food. When our first table became too sunny, the waitresses went out of their way to find us a more comfortable spot in the shade.
The food exceeded all expectations. I had the calamari in an olive and tomato-based sauce, with good calamari being surprisingly hard to find in Berlin — and it was absolutely delicious. We were a group of five, and every single person at the table was impressed with their meal.
Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for authentic Italian food in a...
