mani mogo — KOREAN DINER — Restaurant in Berlin

I love korean food but this place gives it a bad name. I have been there 5 times now in hope they would get better during this first year or that I had just chosen the wrong item, but now I am giving up.

My problems with it is that the food just don't taste good. E.g. the beef they use, taste like how a live cow smells, which usually means it is the cheapest possible meat. I then changed to their vegetarian dishes which helps some but not enough for me to come back. The bibimbap is bland and boring. It needs more variation in the taste, e.g. more sour and crispy ingredients.

For an everyday lunch place they are more expensive than the surrounding area with prices of around 8€ for the lunch specials. They should consider giving the possibility of smaller dishes without the starter soup for 5-6€.

The place itself is nice and modern and the waiters friendly, so if they could just get a better cook who would improve their recipes and ensure proper ingrediens I would be coming...

I was excited even before I visited this place, and it didn’t damper me down at all. Very friendly waiters who were super patient in explaining the dessert to me. The vegan burger was the best one I have ever eaten and still havent figured out what the dessert was (wasnt too sweet, so all ok). The place seems in a secluded location, but bustling with activity. The portions were smaller than I expected out of an Asian restaurant (stereotyped big portions). I would want to try all the vegetarian options in the future, which is quite less in number on the menu, but when compared to other restaurants, it was a win. Great find in a location near...

Really good. Maybe a bit pricey but they have a formula for lunch, and they have additional BBQ dishes for diner. Service is 4/5 because they do the job and are nice, but one of them decided to throw the cleaned mixed (metallic) cutlery from the dishwasher to separated containers for forks/knifes/ chopsticks/spoons. It was right next to the customers in the bar (customer side, not waiter side) and it made so much noise, for a good 10 mn it was really annoying. They could have waited for people to leave to do it.
