Taverna Kos — Restaurant in Berlin

This is the second time in the last year we've visited this restaurant, both times a little by accident. The service was very nice and friendly. It's not supper attentive however, and we've had to look for our waiter when we needed something more often than not. The atmosphere is nice, and somewhat reminiscent of Greek. The food was ok. Some of it was better than other parts of it. The various meet dishes we've had were a bit on the dry side in my opinion. The biggest two issues I've had with the place, and the main reason I've set the review to 3 instead of 4, are the fact that the food is expensive, much more so than the received value in my opinion, and the fact that waiting time for food is very long, even when the restaurant is almost empty. Very mixed feelings about my visit there. Food was quite good (apart from cold potatoes in my Mom's dish and too hard fries in mine), restaurant looks nice inside and service was professional and friendly. I've ordered a soup of the day and a main course. There was no price for the soup printed in the menu. And after the meal I've got the bill, with soup listed for whooping 9,5 Euros!!! It was a normal size soup plate, not any huge bowl (like Pho soup in Vietnamese places). I've complained about the price to the waiter, and he told me that this soup is so expensive, "because it contains meat". Sorry, but this is way too much. I had walked past this Greek restaurant many times, and it always caught my attention. I finally decided to try it, and it was a great surprise.

The food was delicious, and the service was truly warm and friendly. The person who served us was especially kind, and the waiting time was minimal.

The flavors were spot on, and we were lucky to have a nice day to sit outside, which made the whole experience even better.
