Vino Greco — Restaurant in Berlin

We were honestly quite disappointed. The first night, we had dinner at the restaurant next door, which is owned by the same person, and the experience was excellent – the waiter was incredibly kind, very friendly, and the food was delicious. We ate really well and felt genuinely welcomed.

So the following evening, we thought: why not try the Greek restaurant right next door, also owned by the same owner?

Unfortunately, the experience there was completely different. The food was quite average, nothing special, but what really ruined the evening was the service. The waiter seemed almost annoyed that we were there – unfriendly and distant, with no effort to make us feel welcome.

To make things worse, no one told us the kitchen was closing, so when it came time for dessert, we were simply told everything was finished. We weren’t even offered anything, it all felt rushed and dismissive.

In many ways special! We were treated to a lunch with our BiWC group. Unexpected was the decor of Vino Greco, modern and sleek. Even better was the food. The antipasti were delicately seasoned, fresh and arranged in a way that focused on color composition. The Aubergine main dish teased the tongue with rich flavors and only slightly sprinkled with feta. Iced tomatoes, browned new potatoes and a side salad went well along. Leider war unser Erlebnis am Samstag unterirdisch. Service total überfordert, Getränke wurden vergessen, bzw. falsch gebracht. Anstelle von alkolfreien Radler wurde eines mit Alkohol gebracht... Schmutzige Teller der Vorspeisen wurden erst abgeräumt als die Hauptspeisen kamen. Bei den Haupspeisen fehlte das Pitabrot. Erst bei der Beschwerde wurde gesagt, dass es durch den großen Andrang aus ist, ohne Worte... Das Fleisch vom Souvlaki war leider extrem fettig und schlecht gegrillt. Die Bedienung wollte den Chef holen,um die ganzen Ungereimtheiten zu klären. Der sass anscheinend aber lieber vor seinem Lokal, um an die Fußballfans Bier zu verkaufen, zu unserem Tisch kam er jedenfalls nicht. Die Rechnung wurde trotz der fehlenden Bestandteile einzelner Gerichte nicht reduziert. Es handelt sich um ein hochpreisiges, griechisches Restaurant und so ein schlechtes Essen und Service haben wir selten erlebt. Ich kann nur jedem davon abraten hier soviel Geld für eine so schlechte Gegenleistung zu lassen. Dann lieber zum Standard-Griechen um die Ecke, da wird das Essen und der Service...
