Where to start? I tend to stay in lots of hotels due to my job, however this time I was travelling with students. After reading a few reviews here on TA I was a little concerned, however it was not that bad.||||Firstly, the hotel was clean and secure. No complaints there. It is also about 10 minute walk from a U-Bahn and S-Bahn station so easy to get to. The food provided was okay - a very basic breakfast with limited breads although the dinners were much better - wholesome food that will not win any awards but will keep you going! Unfortunately, one member of our party informed the hotel beforehand of their strict dietary requirements but it still took a few days for them to start providing her with food that could be eaten.||||There is no lift so a room on the third floor is a long way up with suitcases. However the main issue was that many of us on the third floor just could not connect to the Wifi and kept getting DHCP errors. The hotel didn't seem to care that much which was annoying. In addition, some rooms (including mine) had no blinds on the roof mounted Velux windows leading to bring sunlight filling the bedroom at 04:30 - this, aligned to the tiny thin duvet led to only small amounts of sleep.||||The main issue I had was when a large school group from another European country arrived. The kids were running up and down the corridor until around 01:00, banging each others doors, shouting and being far more noisy than you would want when you are trying to get some sleep before the sun wakes you up. As others have said, this hotel seems to cater mainly for large student groups so be prepared - I definitely wouldn't want to stay here if on business or a leisure trip. For business, the room I was in had a tiny round table and plastic school type seat which wasn't the best for trying to get some work done via the poor cell signal.||||So there you go, good for large school groups but be prepared for lots and lots of noise. Oh, and get as much coffee as you can as they don't allow the machines to be on during dinner for some reason. They also won't allow you to grab some butter pots if you pickup your own lunch from the Lidl about 10 minutes walk away. Not the most helpful...||||But it was clean, secure and in a decent location for...
Read moreOK SO IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND CHILDREN, DONT TAKE THEM AND GOTO THIS PLACE, if i had the option of giving minus 100, star i would do that. It was the biggest mistake of my travelling life that despite of the bad reviews on google and booking, only basing my decision on some of the fair reviews, i decided to stay in this hotel. Firstly they call themselves as a hotel but they should indeed call it as a refugee house. There is no queen like thing, nothing parky and gardeny about the place both inside and outside. The staff is helpless and cannot do a thing, i think because of the owner. The OWNER is the RUDEST person I have ever met on this planet. He threatens the guests, insults them and doesnt care if the people in his hotel live or die. I travelled with my 2 months old and seeing that its a children friendly hotel, i expected that it will have very basic things like boiled water for infants, so that their food could be prepared. When we asked about it, the response was a NO. We pleaded that our child will be hungry and the owner said, he cant do anything about it and doesnt care about the baby. There was no where around that hotel that I could get boiled water, and his response posed a risk to my child' health. Then i argued and he said that he has not taken the responsibility of my child and that the discussiond was over. He also threatened that if i spoke one more word he would call police, to which i said please do call. He then threatened that he can ask me to leave his property anytime without giving me my money back. I had to end the argument because i was with my wife, 2 months old and 65+ yrs parents and to stay. I finally had to call some random indian restaurant in the neighborhood requesting for some boiled water, to which they were kind to help me. So again if you love you children and family, please stay away from this place else you may end up insulted like I did. Thank you for reading, i am typing as I am travelling back home now and so relieved that i left that hotel...
Read moreThree classes from our school stayed at this hotel from 10/10 - 14/10 2022 on our school trip to Berlin. Where should I begin...
The room my friend and I stayed in was dirty, it looked like the floor hadn't been cleaned (we looked under the beds and that was disgusting) and our mattresses were stained. There weren't any blinds or curtains on the window, and besides that, the window was covered in weird stickers. The doorframe of the bathroom had parts of it ripped away, and there was like a burn mark on the floor. The walls had weird stains, which I assume was grease and other nasty things. I woke up with a bite mark from an insect, so there might be bed bugs as well...
Additionally, there was a literal hole in the wall. The shower was one of the worst showers I've ever used, because the water pressure was so low that it was almost useless. There was also no ventilation. Three people from our class even had to change rooms because the floor in their first room was tilting and the room was really unsanitary. The hotel also had badly isolated walls, which was annoying as you could hear everything going on outside the room.
The breakfast felt incomplete. It was basically just two kinds of bread, juice in plastic glasses, eggs and yoghurt. There was coffee as well, but then you had to ask for help and the person who handled the coffee machine didn't speak English. The only good thing about the hotel was its location, as it's close to the U-Bahn station.
To summarize: Unhygienic rooms with stained mattresses, no curtains and potential bed bugs. Poor breakfast. The hotel shouldn't have a British profile when some of the staff don't even speak English. I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE...
