Mottenkiste Kneipe — Restaurant in Bielefeld

We're English and very sociable, so when we first moved into our new apartment my wife insisted we look around the area for the closest pub before signing the contract. A brief ten minute walk found us being welcomed to the Mottenkiste by Gülhan with open arms and a beaming smile. Along with her husband, Önder, they run this gloriously traditional Gasthaus, opening at 13:00 until late (closed Sundays). Cheapest beer in town (bottled and draught) with an array of shots to match, the atmosphere is quieter in the afternoon but builds as the day progresses. It is conventional in décor, runs several E-dart teams (with weekly tournaments) and you can usually get fleeced playing "Knobel" by the locals who will teach you this fiendish dice game and bewilder you with their pace and skills. Sadly the restaurant is no longer active but you can bring your own snacks or takeaways and they will even order food in for you, should you feel peckish. Around the bar it's literally a mini UN with all manner of nationalities present from German and Turkish, to Croatian, Serbian, English, Macedonian, Russian and even Thai, plus many more. Not just multicultural but also harmonious and welcoming with everyone warm and friendly. Trust me, once you have been you'll struggle to leave - and we've been coming here at least a couple of times a week for the past three years. Heartily...

Ich muss sagen das der Ort nicht meins ist. Es ist hier sehr klein und gedrungen. Zudem ist es laut da direkt die Straße angrenzt. Es gibt auch die Möglichkeit dart zu spielen jedoch sind die Automaten unglücklich zwischen zwei sitzbereichen aufgestellt. Also für mich war der Ort nichts. Aber es ist wie immer jeder soll sich selbst ein Bild machen. Aber für mich gibt es schönere kleine Kneipen. Das Essen wir über einen Lieferservice bestellt und nicht...

Zum ersten Mal bestellt Canneloni.und Brokkoli al forno,es wurde innerhalb der angegebenen Zeit geliefert,sehr freundlich,alles schön heiß,ABER: beide Gerichte waren so übermäßig fettlastig,es schwammen richtige Fettpfützen obenauf,habe nur knapp die Hälfte gegessen und es schlug mir anschließend derart auf den Magen,das ich mit den unangenehmen Folgen bis in den späten Abend zu kämpfen hatte und mit WC-Lauferei beschäftigt...
