Our family -- mom, dad, sons ages 6, 12, 14, 16 -- have visited this wonderful, very practical, family-owned, and successful hotel in central Buchen several times over ten years. It is always very clean and well managed, as you might expect in Germany, with costs very reasonable. In addition, the friendly owners explained to us, in December 2017, they had recently purchased a large historic building across the street, to expand, opening for more guests in 2019. If you want to visit a 100% locally owned hotel, in the center of a small yet modern rural German village surrounded by breathtaking uninterrupted rolling hills of farmland where carefully-tended crops grow to the edge of the road, with super-friendly 21st century German hospitality, a father and son working shoulder to shoulder, with local foods, local beers, and unpretentious practicality excellence, with the dining room filled with local residents as well as hotel guests, this is the...

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel with our family. Our room was simply amazing — especially the second floor, perfect for two children or for a parent and child to enjoy together. The golden-colored bath added a touch of comfort and luxury. The service was excellent, with kind and attentive staff who made us feel truly welcome. Breakfast was delicious — fresh omelet, a nice variety of sausages, and everything prepared with care. A special thank you for the kindness shown to our child — he was treated warmly and even received the promised hot cacao. The restaurant also offered great service.
