Ristorante Pizzeria Da Francesco — Restaurant in Cochem

If you're getting sick of schnitzel and french fries, pop in to this super cozy, Italian restaurant. It's OPEN ALL YEAR, which is a really big deal in this area. All of the food is pretty darn good and the prices are well...tourist prices. The family loves the pizza, though I've had better and to each his own. My hubs says the pasta is fabulous and I value his opinion, but I've not had it, but will try it, next time. I would most certainly make a reservation. We've been turned away several times. You often have to wait quite a bit for just about every aspect of the experience which is important for some people and though we've been here a lot, I still think the service can improve.

It's ok to bring kids and doggos, but it isn't specifically or in anyway child friendly. It's a very, very small restaurant and can get a bit squishy, but sometimes that adds to the appeal.

I would recommend it if you're looking for Italian in this...

Wir hatten Ende Januar zu zweit einen unfreiwillig komischen Abend, den wir so schnell nicht vergessen werden. Bestellt haben wir zwei Hauptgerichte, einen Salat und Rigatonie Vier Käse. Der Salat kam nach einer halber Stunde. Ohne Besteck. Auf Nachfrage nach Besteck kam dieses dann 15 Minuten, zusammen mit den Rigatonie. Bis dahin hatten wir den Salat bereits mit den Fingern verspeist, was durchaus amüsant war. Die Rigatonie waren zwar etwas kalt und die Soße schmeckte etwas nach aus einer Packung, aber an kleinen unpässlichkeiten hatten wir an dem inzwischen fortgeschrittenen Abend bereits Freude gefunden. Dazu gehöhrte auch die erfrischend spartanische Darreichung von Salat und Rigatonie ohne Pizzabrötchen. Wir hatten uns zwar nicht köstlich ernährt, aber köstlich amüsiert. Auf Nachfrage, ob es etwas vom Haus gebe aufgrund der kleinen Fehler, wurde uns ein Grappa angeboten. Diesen nahmen wir in einfacher Ausführung an. Er wurde uns am ende dann mit über 4 Euro berechnet. Statt dessen hat sich das Haus umentschieden und uns ein paar Euro nachgelassen. Verstanden haben wir das nicht, aber das war auch egal. Wir haben uns köstlich amüsiert, anderen Gästen ging es ähnlich, wir hatten zusammen viel Spass und die sehr schönen Räumlichkeiten haben das übrige zu einem unterhaltsamen, überraschenden gute-Laune-Abend bei getragen! Set a reservation for a large party at a later time in the evening (8pm). Instead of being courteous about a previous large party staying later into our reservation time, the wait staff at the Pizzeria made the unfortunate decision to be rude and condescending about when the table might be ready. Customer service is severely lacking. We waited but ultimately chose to go to another restaurant. I hope the pizza and food is better than the service. We won't...
