I have beeen several times at Bulgogi Haus and I would recommend this restaurant to experience a plesant Korean BBQ time. The food is quite delicious and authentic. You are firstly served the appetizer which are deep fried Mandus, then the pork , beef, duck meat cuts for the first round. This is followed by a change of the BBQ grill plate so that you don't mix the flavour with the meat and enjoy the sea food items: prawn and calamari. A variety of side dishes like kimbap, kimchi, seaweed salad, etc. are offered as a buffet option and everything tasted very fresh and delicious. Most importantly the cherry on the cake was, the hospitality and friendly staff that reminded me of the asian style service with a touch of warmth which I miss so much here in Germany. Also, the staff speak both English and German. They are so patient and take the time to explain everything to you and help you out with the grilling too. At the end before paying we were also offered a drink on the house. We opted for the delicious plum wine! All in all, it was an absolute pleasure.
Edit: Yesterday was our second time there and once again it was perfect. I am immensely grateful to the staff of Bulgogi Haus as they were so nice to accommodate us despite the fact that we were 1 hour 20 mins late for our reservation because of our train getting cancelled and several delays with the public transport. Once we were there, we forgot all about the travelling nightmare...
Read moreSuch an amazing gem of a place. What a true rare find. They have really tasty and amazingly marinated meat cuts with first round being the pork belly and pork neck meat (we didnt take the beef this time), second round being the duck and the third was squid and shrimps. The amount of meat was just perfect for 3 people complimented with abundant amount of tasty side dishes to be taken at the counter. My favourite side dish would have to be the seaweed salad. Plus we tried peach soju. Its like peach iced tea and alcohol mixed together! Interesting The food experience was already 10/10 for us. But the manager and our servers made our experience even better. The manager would actually take out time to come talk to us, give us some tips about how we can barbeque our food and giving more insight about korean food. He even helped us to barbeque our shrimps and squid properly. At the end, they offered us 3 free glasses of apple, plum and grape soju so that we could give it a try. Honestly all the flavours were amazing.
Thats not it. They offer an option between aloe vera and plum wine at the end as closing the meal option. Go for aloe vera! And someone had managed to bake a brownie and we even got a piece of that brownie. I mean this place is going down in history as best dining experience. And a place we will be visiting everytime...
Read moreThe high reviews and high praise from other reviewers exactly represent my review for this place as well! I love Korean BBQ and have been to many; this place is as authentic as it gets! If you stop reading here, this is a must go to top restaurant in Cologne! If you crave kbbq or want to try it for the first time, this is definitely a place to start!
The menu is simple and the server will explain how everything comes, what size they recommend for the amount of people in your party, and how to cook the foods if you’re unfamiliar with kbbq. The amount of food is generous and delicious! Well marinated meats and you get the whole accompaniment of sides in a buffet style, so you never need to ask for more rice, kimchi, japchae, lettuce, fish cakes, bean sprouts, etc.
The staff are extremely friendly and professional! Be sure to make a reservation, as they are always so busy! Very very easy reservation requests via WhatsApp. You can also request any Korean dish as part of your reservation, as they don’t readily have everything if you do not give them a heads up. So if you want kalbi, tteokbokki, or other Korean dishes, just ask via WhatsApp.
Awesome place and will...
