Luis Seafood — Restaurant in Darmstadt-Mitte

We ordered a fish platter for two and a chocolate souffle with vanilla ice cream and we really loved the food, but it pains my heart that chilled white wine was not available to combine with the fresh, well prepared fish to make it a perfect birthday dinner. The selection of beverages is mostly sugary drinks, schorles and lemonades, and even the water is bottled. I don't know the reasons behind not serving alcoholic beverages, but a fish needs to swim. We could have spent some 20-30 EUR more on a good Riesling, but we had to go do that elsewhere after the delicious dinner, which is sad, because Luis' seafood has a great ambience remininding one of a seaside bistro, and we would have loved to...

Gleich zu Beginn: "Das erste Mal seit langem, dass ich nicht nachwürzen wollte." Finde ich super.

Mittelgroße Auswahl an Fischen und Meeresfrüchten in der Kühltheke zum aussuchen. Für mich heute zu viel zum Entscheiden. Habe dann gegrillten Seehecht und ein paar Garnelen dazu genommen. Flexibilität unabhängig von der Karte. Das ist selten, vor allem bei dem dann berechneten Preis.

Bestellt wird an der Theke, das Essen wird serviert. Getränke wählt man sich aus den Kühlschränken aus, nur alkoholfreie.

Ein Schälchen Oliven in Kräutern gab es vorweg. Zum Fisch dann Salat und knackige Bratkartoffelchips, Zitrone, ein Schälchen Remoulade und ein Schälchen kalte Tomatensauce. Weißbrot als Extra. Die Garnelen lagen auf einem Bett von gegrilltem Gemüse, Der Seehecht auf den Punkt gegrillt.

Nichts war fettig, weder Bratkartoffeln noch Gemüse, der Seehecht sowieso nicht. Der Espresso zum Schluss war ein echter Espresso, kein kleiner Kaffee.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, fix und angenehm unaufdringlich.

Die Einrichtung ist dem Angebot angepasst. Nicht mein Ding. Doch das heißt ja nichts. Wohlgefühlt habe ich mich jedenfalls. Und... ich gehe bestimmt wieder hin und genieße guten Fisch für angemessenen Preis.

A wonderful experience! The food looks and tastes fantastic. We had amazing olives with garlic and herbs as a starter, a plate for four, and a delicious fish fillet for me (to avoid gluten contamination). Fish went with a fresh and nicely seasoned salad and golden fried potatoes. And we felt here as invited for a lunch to friends.
