Restaurant Haus 1680 — Restaurant in Dinkelsbühl

Honestly we were very excited to eat in there, but when you are too hungry and the service is slow to inexistent it's hard to get to the part where you get to order the food. We got there around 18:30, the owner I presume, was quick to give us 8 menus, 20 minutes later he comes to our table and gives us 1 menu in English and takes our drinks order, 20 minutes later our drinks still haven't arrived nor has he taken our food order, we were just ignored in the back, we had to go twice and ask him to hurry up with the drinks as we were hungry and wanted to drink them, pay and go somewhere else to eat. After an hour of waiting we finally got our drinks that we drank super quick and when we went to pay, he couldn't even work the card machine, ended up paying cash and being charged for a bottle of wine but we only received two glasses of wine...I understand that family owned businesses are trying to cut costs mostly in a country like Germany where taxes are killing you, but if you have a business in a tourist hot spot at least speak english and explain that you are understaffed, try to bring the drinks out quick as alcohol will numb the stomach and maybe bring out some fresh bread and something while people wait for the food. 1 hour to wait for drinks and no one coming to ask us what we want to eat it's a...

Schönes Ambiente, nette Bedienung, daher zwei Sterne. Leider hatten wir mit unserem Essen Pech, man sollte hier keinen Zwiebelrostbraten essen, es war ein normales Schnitzel in Soße ertränkt und sehr trocken gebraten. Schade das ein solches Gericht teuer verkauft wird und dabei es sich um keinen Zwiebelrostbraten handelt. Über die Kritik war der Kellner nicht gerade begeistert und meinte, dass er es weitergibt. Wir haben trotzdem gegessen da wir es nicht wegschmeißen lassen wollten, dennoch leider nicht empfehlenswert. Über andere Gerichte kann ich nicht urteilen, da wir hierher nicht mehr zum Essen gehen, weil wenn Zwiebelrostbraten auf der Karte steht, wird vom gast erwartet, dass auch dieser qualitativ vom hohen Preis her serviert wird, daher denke ich das die restlichen Gerichte auch nur durchschnittlich sind. Leider kam nach der Kritik auch nichts entgegen, nicht Mal ein Kaffee aufs Haus, sehr Schade

Nach der untenstehenden Antwort vom Besitzer, naja was soll man da noch sagen.... hätten wir es zurück gehen lassen, wäre eh nicht das auf dem Teller gelandet, was wir erwartet haben bzw. was darauf gehört, dann eher als Besitzer dankbar sein, dass wir dies nicht getan und den vollen Preis gezahlt haben. Stopped by this restaurant during a very busy night in the middle of a town festival. Staff was very welcoming, helpful and the food was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something other than the commonly found German or Italian food nearby.
