Arcangelo — Restaurant in Essen

Felt I should leave a review.... The owner was quite helpful as I tried to understand the flavor profiles of the various roasts. I settled on a Juicy Honey roast, based on his description of it as, "WOW!" He was right. Wow! What a complex and amazing flavor profile, and perhaps what I was looking for without being able to describe it myself. I try local roasters everywhere I go (have found them in more countries than I care to count now), and this is legitimately one of the best roasts I've ever found. From the processing to the roasting, it is such a vibrant palette that comes through in the taste, and unique to what I've tried before. I hope to return for my next bag. Small roasters with knowledge, passion, and an excellent product should...

the espresso was well balanced. milk texture was lacking.

the surly man making the drinks is lucky to have the friendlier lady acting as a buffer. If she wasn't there to speak on his behalf we would have left.

His espresso machine(mirage 🤤) is a glorious work of art. but the atmosphere is very 'atelier chic'

if I lived in Essen I'd try again and see if I just showed up on a bad day. this one deserves...

Der Kaffee sucht seinesgleichen! Liebe zum Produkt, ein enormes Fachwissen, die feinsten Kaffees, ein warmer, willkommen heissender Laden. Wer wirklichen Kaffeegenuss sucht und von einem Meister mit echten Spezialitäten beschert werden will, ist hier genau richtig. Nimm eine Auszeit vom Hamsterrad und lebe mal kurz! Respekt...
