Hartmaier's Villa Restaurant Ettlingen — Restaurant in Ettlingen

We are staying at the hotel next door and by chance wanted to see if a table was available. They were fully booked. That’s fine. But the attitude and rudeness from the female front of house was disgusting. Like something she had stepped in. Following her rudeness didn’t think to inform us there was in fact another restaurant out back with ample seating available. Another male waiter who watched the ordeal followed us out to tell us. She single handedly let the place down....

Also vor einem Jahr hätten wir dem Hartmaier´s noch 4-5 Sterne gegeben. Allerdings waren wir auch vorher 3 Jahre nicht mehr dort, nachdem ich damals vor ca. 4 Jahren für teuer Geld das gefrorene Fertig-Carpaccio von der Metro serviert bekam. Aber wie gesagt, vor einem Jahr war es dann eigentlich wieder gut.

Nun müssen wir das aber leider auf max. 2 Sterne runterstufen: die „Riesengarnelen vom Grill“ waren zwei aufgetaute kleine Garnelen, denen mit viel drübergestreutem Paprikapulver viel Schärfe eingehaucht wurde.

Das „Rib-Eye-Steak vom Freilandrind war zwar okay, aber es war halt nur ein Stück Fleisch auf einem Teller, dazu lieblos ein paar Bohnen und ein paar Bratkartoffeln nebendran gelegt. Kein raffiniertes Gewürz, keine Speckscheibe um die Bohnen oder vielleicht ein paar Zwiebelchen, und noch nicht mal ein Blättchen Petersilie als Deko. Einfach nur Essen auf einem Teller. Die Cafe de Paris-Butter war okay.

Das Iberico-Kotelett wies in etwa dieselben Merkmale auf wie das Rib-Eye-Steak und war auch nichts Besonderes.

Der Service hatte Probleme, Deutsch zu sprechen oder zu verstehen, aber wir waren froh, dass wir nach über 10 min Wartezeit wenigstens mal gefragt wurden, ob wir denn schon eine Speisekarte hätten. War denn eine zu sehen auf unserem Tisch?

Fazit: Lieblos angerichtetes Essen von nicht (mehr) allzu hoher Qualität, dafür aber zu recht hohen Preisen und nicht gerade elegant serviert.

The place is nice. The food was up to par. But the service isn't up to the restaurant's standard. There isn't a uniform dress code for everyone. We came 10 minutes before our appointment time and they told us to wait outside. Parking is a bit difficult. There's a waiter with a beard who wasn't up to the service standard. He was disgusting and didn't treat customers like a waiter. The food was delicious. But the price is too high for the service...
