Typical German service... We came here for lunch as we saw the notice saying about discounts for lunch time. When we entered, there were no one and no-one came to us, so I went looking for menu. Apparently it wasn't easy, as the man who finally was giving out the menus was incredibly stubborn and didn't want to give me the second one. It took me naturally more than 4 asks to get it, I felt myself like in India... Okay, we got the menu, only one had the lunch notice "every main dish for 10 eur", anyway, we proceeded to selection from the main menu. Not really many options to choose from, initially I wanted Thai rice something, but after the waiter said it's very spicy, I had no really other choice, so I went for pulled pork burger, while my friend has decided on quarter duck. And we were intrigued to know about "bieramisu", so we ordered this as well.
While having the cool interior in a-la steampunk style, the brewery part which is also somehow located inside was really noisy, absolutely not nice to sit inside. Plus the loud radio (not even music, but radio with all ads!). Not recommended.
It took them definitely more than 30 minutes to bring us the food. Reminding, it was lunch time and we were the only people sitting inside (maybe few more outside, but anyway it was far-far away from "crowded"). When we started making bets whether we will get food before our lunch break ends, we actually got it. Duck was coming with a lonely knodel and hot red cabbage salad, my burger was with salad. Both were quite tasty, just the burger had pieces of onions which were not mentioned in the menu.
After we finished we had to wait few more minutes for the dessert. I dunno, for me tasted similar to normal tiramisu, maybe a very little bit of beer taste, but nothing special. My friend has clearly recognised beer taste though. Anyway, it was quite small portion of tiramisu for whopping 7.5 eur. Not recommended.
As we were already in a hurry, I went to the cashier to pay and was surprised with the final bill amount. It turned out "every main dish" wasn't "every", but only the ones on this lunch paper (which was missing in the second menu completely). So we ended up with 44 euros in total instead of ~30 we were expecting to spend for lunch. Not recommended.
Not to mention there is no A/C, so in a heat you slowly die inside.
Bottom line - horrible service, overpriced, noisy, not...
Read moreVisited here Thursday 1st July 2021 and stayed locally on a nearby street in the camper. This place is about 10 to 12 km east of the centre of Munich in Feldkirchen if you considered Munich as a clockface then it sits at about 3 'o'clock. If you are travelling from the centre of the city using the public transport then it is quite straightforward as the S2 in the direction of Erding from Isator will get you directly here and with a short walk to from the station either side, in about 30 mins you will be here. f you are driving there is some parking at the location or plenty of street parking close by.
It is a large brick fronted building, it looks quite cool, it seems to be on a predominantly residential street. It is bigger than it looks when you enter and can apparently accommodate 160 people and with a Biergarten at the rear able to seat a further 300 and a roof top terrace another 70, on a nice day this can really pack them in. There is copper brewing equipment off to the left, the place is split into a few rooms, toilets are in the cellar, it really is tardis-like. I like the simple slightly industrial look inside.
We also ate here, I had the Almschnitzel, Loz had the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel, both were very good, good sized portions and despite perhaps being a little more expensive than some places I think were good value for money. Considering this place was really quite busy, the service was very swift for both beer and food.
Onto the beers, I liked them all, however, maybe the Dunkel needs a little more work, refining the recipe? The Weisse, Helles and Doppelbock were very nice, in particular, the Weisse and Doppelbock were most enjoyable. I would...
Read moreWe went here because it had good reviews on Google. The place also looked really good, but we had a rather wierd waiter. She was an older lady who said she, didnt speak any english, wich is fine, since we speak a little german. But then she acted like she did not understand us at all even when we poited at the dishes we wanted from the menu, and she was acting kind of rude. The food was kind of dissapointing too. When leaving, my boyfriend stayed behind to pay the check while i took our dog outside. The waiter then started screaming at me from across the resturant, saying that i had to pay inside, i explained that my boyfriend was sitting rigth there at our tabel an paying for the both of us, she wouldnt hear any of it, and contiued screaming at me until i left the building. She then went over to my boyfriend and slammed the table asking for a tip! A really absurde scene. The other waiters seemed really nice, but this one ruined our...
