I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the Wiener Schnitzel (see attached photo). Unfortunately, the meat was extremely thin and had a spoiled taste and smell—something that should raise serious food safety concerns. I mentioned this to the waiter right away, but instead of taking the concern seriously, he insisted “this is always made like this” in a dismissive and defensive tone.

Food issues can happen anywhere, but what matters most is how they’re handled. In this case, there was no apology, no offer to replace the dish, and no willingness to check the meat in the kitchen. Serving potentially spoiled food and then dismissing a customer’s concern is both unsafe and unprofessional.

I left feeling unwell and disappointed—not just because of the schnitzel, but because of the lack of care for customer safety and experience.

I hope management reviews their food handling practices and staff training to ensure no other guests are...

Corrected English version: To be honest, I’ve driven past this restaurant many times and always wanted to give it a try. I finally had the chance when some friends came to visit. I’m not sure why this place gets good reviews. The beer wasn’t very tasty and wasn’t properly chilled. The food was mediocre — the schnitzel was overcooked and dry, the potatoes were over-fried and cold, and I doubt they were fresh. The potato salad had a strange grayish color that honestly made me feel sick. The service was below average — getting the waiter’s attention required waving and practically jumping up and down. And at the end, they started openly asking for tips, which is quite unusual for a typical German restaurant. I doubt I’ll be coming back. There are plenty of good beer restaurants in Frankfurt that offer proper service and authentic German food. This place felt more...

Absolutely love this spot! Ginnheimer Wirtshaus (the place locals still remember as Wäldches) is a hidden gem right next to Niddapark. It’s the perfect place for an easygoing dinner with friends after a walk or a bike ride. The vibe is super relaxed—big beer garden, lots of greenery, and a very local crowd. The menu has all the classics you want from a Frankfurt Wirtshaus, with good portions and fair prices. Service is friendly, the Apfelwein is on point, and if the weather’s nice, sitting outside is a must. Not fancy, just really solid and genuine. Definitely coming back!

Good place for German food and in house beer. Unfortunately, due to Corona, seating is outside and despite not being really busy, the waiter-table system meant while other waiters were free they didn't take care of us while our waiter was AWOL. We saw other customers leave as nobody came to them after they arrived despite staff being around. When the waiter did show up, the service was fine, and food came quickly. If they reconsider their table management, they would get 5 stars.
