Appalling & despicable staff. The restaurant would not serve my friend and I because we had not made a reservation. I asked if a reservation is mandatory & if it mentions this on their website, answer to both was no. They would not accommodate a party of 2 even though the restaurant was completely empty except for a table seating 5 people. Meanwhile the restaurant sits easily 40+ guests. I have worked in the restaurant & service industry for half of my life and never have I experienced such unfriendliness & lack of empathy and hospitality. The worst part of it all, there was a thunderstorm and massive rain showers and they would not even offer to let us at least have a drink. The location of the restaurant is also in the middle of nowhere, instead of having a hospitable reaction to us then needing to go back out in the rain, rude and unfriendly goodbyes is what we were given. Ich war heute (18.02.2024) mit meiner Familie im Urlaub… Versteckt im Vereinshaus eines Kleingartenvereins in Frankfurt/Main (Stadtteil Niederrad) öffnet freitags, samstags und sonntags das „Tasquinha da Jacinta“. Die Einrichtung passt nicht ins Urlaubsbild, aber was kann man schon von einem typisch deutschen Vereinshaus in Sachen Möblierung erwarten (Profisport ausgenommen)… Aber die Atmosphäre – wie in Portugal in einem typischen Lokal: laut, voll (nur mit Reservierung!!!) voller leckerer Gerüche, mit einem Vitrinen-Kühlschrank für das Flaschenbier und noch einem für die Nachspeisen – damit man vor dem Essen schon weiß, wofür man sich noch etwas Appetit aufbewahren sollte. Eine übersichtliche einseitige Speisekarte hält für jeden etwas parat, inklusive Vorspeisen. Alleine wegen der unvergleichlich wunderbaren Atmosphäre hätte ich die Speisekarte von oben runtergegessen, wenn ich könnte… Nach einigen Kleinigkeiten vorneweg, fiel die Wahl der Hauptgerichte auf Tintenfisch (Lulas grelhadas), Stockfisch (Bacalhau a Bràz) und einem Rindersteak mit Spiegelei (Bitoque de vaca). Alles vorzüglich, der Stockfisch eine Idee zu ölig, was man aber mit etwas Zitronensaft kompensieren kann, ohne den Grundgeschmack zu zerstören. Der Hauswein ebenfalls ein Treffer, mild und trotzdem vollmundig – sehr lecker. Was da auf den Fotos wie Chips aussieht, ist eine von vielen portugiesischen Varianten von/Alternativen zu Pommes Frites. Der Laden war voll und ich kann verstehen, warum das so ist: Der Gesamteindruck ist fantastisch, angefangen von den netten Servicekräften, über das Ambiente die Atmosphäre und die Speisen – ein Geheimtipp (für einen Kurzurlaub 😉). Eine Auszeit, die auch preislich total bodenständig bleibt und trotzdem alle Sinne belebt. Übrigens: Die portugiesische Küche und auch die Weine stehen spanischen, italienischen und französischen Pendants in NICHTS nach. In Portugal hat man beim Marketing nur nicht so viel Gas gegeben. Gut so, dann bleibt es der Geheimtipp und wird noch viele Menschen...

Not the best Portuguese restaurant I've been to, but they stand their ground.
