If you are a foodie I am not recommended this place though. So first of all, it’s hard to get parking place, it’s big restaurant but no parking space. We have to circle around and park a bit far. Second of all, when we decided to try this place, we called first to ask if there’s need a reservation, no one answer. We found out in their website the only time reservation available is in next 2 weeks. So we did reserve, we wait and when we get there, they just point out the free table next to the cashier. It’s like you actually can walk in and get a nice table and people who reserve place just get any table free if they are not full. And it’s also not a nice table. The lightning is weird. It’s directly to our eyes or somehow too bright. We wish we wear hat so we can see each other when we talk. Third we waited for more than 1,5 hours to get our food. We came at 18.30 and our food come around 20.00, I think they might need more staff in the kitchen rather than the waitress that just hanging around in the cashier. We order burger, burrito, fries and chicken wings. It should not take that long to prepare it. All taste okay. I don’t said it taste bad but for me who like food, it doesn’t taste wow or great that makes we want to come back and try another food there. I mean it should be better. The burrito is to big, like how to eat it? They should also think about how people gonna eat it not just make it big portion. Nice execution with big hot plate that actually you have to be careful. To be honest Dominos chicken wings taste better than in here. We also order dessert. A Chocolate cake. Again it also just taste okay. The vibe or the atmosphere was okay. But not so for dating. Maybe for having fun hangout with friends. This restaurant have a unique themes, it have Mexican skeletons but combined with typical old America forest cabin woods, with lots of dead deers hanging on the wall, while listening to ed sheeran songs. Read moreBad service and atmosphere! Except for one staff member, Dawood, who was honestly very nice, the service sucks at this place! The person at the reception, a bearded man, is unfriendly, if not actually rude! He doesn't smile, and he did not even bother to look at us while telling us that he can only offer us a place at the bar! Usually, this is a deal-breaker for me, but we decided to let it pass as we were tired of driving and hoping on a nice dinner.
We ordered two mains and two sides. After half an hour came one main, a burger, and the two sides. I thought my main dish would shortly follow, but it didn't. Apparently, they forgot! They realized that as we complained. Dawood tried to handle the situation and apologize by inviting us for free coffee. A nice gesture.
Generally, the staff look like they don't like to work. The person at the bar was a bit rude to his colleagues, as we heard them talking. He didn't acknowledge people sitting or eating at the bar.
There was also constant loud shouting coming from the kitchen.
Food was at best "Okay". My Fajita was not that great. The beef was the same type as in the pulled-burger, instead of grilled pieces of steak. Also, it said on the menu "Koriander-Limette-Reis", but it was actually just white rice that was not freshly prepared! It looked and tasted like reheated rice!
It is also generally overpriced. For a steak or a burger, Göttingen has way better options with higher value for money.
Sorry for the harsh review, but this was my second visit after 4 years, and my impression is still the same! I will not come again...
Read moreTimberjacks is a place that advertises with "You can not fake a steak", surely you have to be able to do a steak in less than 1 hour and 45 minutes. Asked for the food 3 times at an hour waiting, 15 min later and 15 min later. Each time the waiter said: "10 mins tops".
Then the food came, after we already stuffed ourselves with the fries. 3 burgers which were fine, the burger meat was processed too much and all juices were out of the burger, however, the combination was ok. Then there were the steaks, all different sizes and thicknesses. Even the grains on the steak were different, we all had flank steak, so you should be able to see the lines or at least that they are comparable to the next one on the table.
The order was medium to make it easy for the chefs, not medium rare as we normally would eat steak. As you all can see in the picture, the steak was almost grey/white in the center and beyond eatible.
So before the food came we already complained 3 times at an reasonable time. Then 2 times more when we had the food. We are having fun and not the complaining type of people, but he this all was too much. I am a chef and we just wanted a burger and steak with some fries for 6 people, how hard can it be? Last thing.. The waiter went to the kitchen and nothing just nothing, we said never mind. Enjoyed the bull for a bit, but the night was ruined. Nothing was done with the bill, not for the waiting not for the bad food.
