We were a group of 8 middle-aged adults with 2 youngsters: 15 and 22 on a bike trip along the river Danube and stayed at different inns every night. One stop was Gasthof Knupfer. We arrived at about 8pm on a Tuesday. We noted with great surprise that the restaurant - which according to the Facebook site is open until 10pm - was closed. No dinner, no drink, nothing. Our hostess suggested that we should go to a nearby restaurant, about 15 mins away, which - after riding close to 80 kms that day - we were reluctant to do. I asked her if she could perhaps fix a sandwich for my teenage daughter, or help us order a pizza but she could not help. Since we were too tired to go away we ate all the snacks and cheese and went to bed. The night was far from nice and quiet: the inn is right on a busy road next to a railway crossing. So trucks are shaking the building on the one side and the train crossing on the other. We did have a nice breakfast the next day with another, much kinder lady serving us. We were about to leave the pace and the bad memories behind when our hostess form the first night came after us and accused us of stealing towels from rooms, even though we told her we did not take them. I do hope that she has found them in the meantime... So be aware of the noise, ask about the restaurant hours, as well as prepared to defenbd yourself if...

Read moreWe stayed here while travelling through Bavaria towards the Black Forest. We stopped here so I could visit the Berg Brauerei (well worth a visit, and only a walk away).||||We were surprised how modern and nice this place was, being in a relatively remote farming area. Very clean, tidy ad comfortable. Service was very attentive, inquiring if we wanted a dinner booking (we didn't), and providing a good breakfast.||||The only downside is its location near to the main road and a railway crossing - the trains and crossing are relatively frequent - though the double--glazed windows and shutters go a long way to making the noise seem a little more distant. Plus having a had a few beers, I managed to sleep my way through :D||||Very excellent...
