Disappointing!

Pros: very good cake parking available close by lovely atmosphere charming building

Cons: I didn’t get the cake I ordered which is a complete no go. I had ordered the Hazelnut cake but got a simple vanilla/chocolate cake without any cream instead. While it still was a good cake, it wasn’t the one I ordered. I’m especially disappointed because it was the second order which got bungled. I had first ordered the berry cake. Waited for 15min before the waitress came and told me it was no longer available, only to serve it to the couple next to me who had arrived after us. My second order was the hazelnut cake. I waited another 10min and got a completely different cake. I think it’s a huge shame because the cake is amazing. However, the long wait and the wrong cake, didn’t make this a good experience.

What a fine bakery shop! You can sit down with a windows right next to Neumagen, relax, enjoy the wonderful bakery, dessert, cakes, freshly made. The staff are very friendly, makes the taste even better. After the wonderful dessert, take a walk along Neumagen. We were here in mid August, it is so beautiful, reminds me Monet's painting. Check out the photos I posted here and the other place along Neumagen.

Also we saw a post in the restaurant with English "Slow Food 2014" and rest in German. I took a picture and translate it later in Google Translate to learn what it meant:

Wir sind aufgrund von Empfehlungen hier her, weil es hier die beste Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte geben soll. Ich muss sagen das die Torte sehr lecker war. Das Stück war groß und hatte eine schöne dicke Schicht aus Kirschen, mir hat sie sehr gut geschmeckt. Ob es nun die beste ist, muss jeder für sich entscheiden, sie gehört auf jeden Fall mit zu den besseren.

Der Service war okay. Wir waren zu Haupt Kaffee Zeit im Lokal, klar ist hier viel los und eine gewisse Thermik ist vorhanden. Aber das habe auch andere Cafés oder Restaurants die in Hot Spot Gebieten liegen und da bekomme ich nicht meine Torte vor meinem Kaffee und dort liegt auch nicht meine Gabel in der Sahne von der Torte. Ich persönlich bekomme dadurch jetzt nicht eine schlechte Stimmung oder lass mir des Essen vermiesen, dennoch ist es was, was auffällt. Und wenn man so hohe Preise für Kuchen verlangt, sollte auch der Service stimmen.

Ambiente muss ich sagen hat Charme. Beabsichtigt oder nicht, hat man in dem Lokal das Gefühl man ist in den 70ern. Ich meine das in diesem Zusammenhang positiv, ich hab mich gefühlt wie damals bei Oma 😄 wie gesagt, nicht negativ gemeint ich hab das Ambiente sehr genossen und fühlte mich kurz ein paar Jahre in der Zeit zurück versetzt. Es mag aber mit Sicherheit Leute geben, die sich hier dran stören und sagen „wow, das aber...
