Alstercafé — Restaurant in Hamburg

One of the worst places I have ever been the service is terrible it took them more than 35 minutes to serve us coffee and some basic ingredients as sausage cheese with croissants a waste of time. don’t go there if you’re speaking English only They won’t know how to react to you. And it’s not a real coffee, it’s a Machine like in hospitals.

To reaction to the owner - how can someone be relaxed when he waits for a menu for 15 min, and additional 20 min for a cap of coffee? While there are 2 additional people in the shop? And when we received the coffee we understood it's cappuccino from a Machine which you push a button to make? Arrived to your shop at 9:35 and got coffee in 10:05. The rest of the "breakfast" is cold bread which we asked to reheat, and 4 slices of sausage. Which takes up to 20 seconds to make. That's just bad service. Make sure your employes work and just...

We're from the USA and don't know German. This Cafe is close to our hotel, so we looked at the reviews, particularly the ones regarding "English". What I saw was that the workers at this Cafe couldn't/didn't speak English and our experiences, were complete opposite. We ate breakfast at the Alstercafe 5 times during our stay, every time was a different worker, and they accommodated us well every time. Not for tourists — a cute small cafe, small breakfasts and fair prices. Lack of English menus and they don’t speak English either. It was hard to communicate and the service was very very slow. Not recommended to English speaking tourists sadly.
