Das Eis-Café — Restaurant in Hamburg

I came to this place to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my husband. We didnt want to have dinner, but we wanted to have a proper ice cream, something like “menu” ice cream. I read their review ob google and there were many good looking ice cream photos and good review. So why not to come here? I thought this place would be a nice place to visit, especially the place is quite big for ice cream cafe. So, i think it is a good idea.

When I was there, the waitress was not friendly. There were no photos on the board menu. With a long list of selection in German, it took time for me to read the money. It was my first time to visit the cafe so I didnt know what to order. But the waitress looked at me impatiently. I asked for a menu with a picture, but they didnt have.

Instead of helping me by explaining the menu or telling me the best ice cream they have, the other waitress kept pushing me asking what I want to buy. So, I decided to buy the ice cream scopes that they had on display instead of something like menu ice cream which I planned to buy. I bought four scopes of ice cream but to be honest the selections are limited.

The taste of ice cream was nothing special that can reduce my disappointment of the service. For that kind of taste, the ice cream is a bit expensive. I only ate one third of it then directly back home. I regret to walk 2 km to come to this place. Having ice cream at home maybe better. I rarely gave a review under 5 stars, but I am disappointed with the service and the taste of the ice cream. Such a waste of...

I choose all time this ice store because they have very good ices and good place outside for you can enjoy your ice. Today, unfortunately happen one episode that from my point of view its really not acceptable. Me my wife and my little daughter drive in bike to this ice store but first we pass in one cash machine because you can not pay with card (not normall in this days) but the cash machine was not working. For we don't drive again back to home all the way with our little girl, we go direct to the ice store, explain and we ask if its possible we eat one ice, let our personnal ID and after I come alone to pay. Answer from the disgusting owner was "NO". Unbelievable, I'm gonna let my ID. This kind of people just think in money but like this, never more I put my feet’s in this place. I had one business, and never take the chance to loose one client because of 20.00 euros. Greed people we don't need...

Durchschnittliches Eis zu günstigem Preis kann man hier bekommen. Die Kugeln sind zwar mit 1,30 € scheinbar teuer, dafür aber sehr groß. Der Preis ist daher gerechtfertigt. Das Eis ist aber leider geschmacklich von maximal mittelmäßiger Qualität und rechtfertigt einen Besuch nicht. Da empfehle ich, eher auf einen Becher von Häagen Dasz zurückzugreifen. Der ist 1000mal leckerer. Ich hatte vier Kugeln, die allesamt nicht lecker waren. Vor allem Marzpan war ein Witz, denn das schmeckte überhaupt nicht nach Marzipan. Haselnuss ging so, Cookies und Cream schmeckte gar nicht und Schokolade war mir nicht cremig genug. Meinen Begleiter schmeckten ihre Becher besser, daher hatte ich vielleicht Pech mit meiner Auswahl.

Man wird draußen nicht bedient, sondern muss das Eis drinnen abholen und dann auch natürlich vor dem Verzehr bezahlen. Es ist im Garten sehr, sehr laut, weil etwa alle 2 Minuten ein Bus vorbei fährt. Es herrscht daher eine Atmosphäre wie in einem Bahnhofscafe.

Keine Besuchsempfehlung von mir, wegen meiner Begleiter aber dennoch drei wohlwollend vergebene Sterne.

Da gibt es selbst in Hamburg deutlich besseres Eis und Hamburg hat im Vergleich mit München oder Köln keine Chance.

Bei meinem zweiten (nicht ganz freiwilligen) Besuch habe ich keinerlei Verbesserung feststellen können. Ganz im Gegenteil das Eis schmeckte noch schlechter und liegt noch schwerer im Magen. Daher reduziere ich die Bewertung auf 2 Sterne.

Witzig, dass manche Rezensionen hier vom besten Eis in Hamburg sprechen. Das bestätigt meine Erfahrung, dass Hamburg definitiv keine Eisstadt ist. Leute holt euch ein Eis in Köln oder München und ihr wollt niemals mehr dieses - im Vergleich dazu - unterdurchschnittlich schmeckende Eis essen. Da das Eiscafe aussieht wie aus den 70ern und es Null Service gibt (man muss das Eis wie im Biergarten an der Theke holen), es außerordentlich laut ist, reduziere ich auf 1 Stern, weil 0 nicht...
