Bellini — Restaurant in Heidelberg

The food was good, and I tried the spaghetti and orange soda. The price was also good. Bellini was open for long hours and conveniently located. The ambience was nice and I loved the interior of the restaurant. The overall atmosphere is very retro and relaxed, great for meeting friends here and chatting. The vast majority of the waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment customers walked through the door and all loved their jobs!

However, I found the interior lighting a little dim and the background music could have been avoided by having the same two or three songs on loop all the time. One older waitress who spoke no English had a bad attitude and rounded up the decimal point of the payment amount when she entered the amount due into the credit card reader. I think the advantage of a credit card is that the payment is precise, and I overpaid by less than a euro without knowing it. It was the first time I'd seen this done and it was a bit abrupt and confusing that she didn't tell...

Bellini is a good Italian restaurant. The quality could be better but the prices are very low compared to other Italian restaurants in town. It's open every day, and the kitchen closes late (23h) which makes Bellini the perfect place to get food when you don't feel like cooking. The servings are good and the environment of the restaurant is really nice with good music. It has also the best coffee in Neuenheimer Feld. The owner is very nice and polite and the staff is always helpful and friendly....

Günstig, ok. Ein italienisches Restaurant im Herzen des Klinikbereichs Heidelberg. Ok, zentral, günstig: Daher eventuell ideal für Studenten dort (scheinbar gibt es Kaffeekarten oder so, weshalb doch recht viel Publikumsverkehr herrschte, was im Winter fatale Kälte erzeugt im ganzen Raum, siehe unten). Dennoch möchte ich mich einigen vermeintlich positiven Bewertungen meiner Vorgänger nicht anschließen.

Gute Zutaten. Spaghetti ok. Pizza geschmacklich arm, nicht voll durchgebacken und Teig in keinster Weise kross an irgendeiner Stelle. Die Tomatensauce isoliert betrachtet war toll. Leider, jetzt 3h später, liegt mir die Pizza sehr im Magen. Kristallweizen: Schaum unmittelbar bei 0. Sehr bitter, vermutlich Zitrone, da Höpfner Bier. Hefeweizen besser beim Schaum.

Service war ok. Zu viel laute, private Gespräche unter den Beschäftigten. Mehrere Handytelefonate der Beschäftigten, teilweise auf Lautsprecher länger anhaltend, teilweise Gruppentelefonate.

Ambiente leider weniger ok. Tische sehr einfach. Was auf den ersten Eindruck sauber wirkte, war an etlichen Stellen zerkratzt oder wirkte unaufgeräumt. Negativ: Tür ohne Vorhang (trotz Aufhängmöglichkeit). Wenn Tür aufging sofort eiskalt im gesamten Raum. Tür stand oft länger als 30-60sek auf. DAHER haben Angestellte Winterkleidung oder Jacken an.
