Extremely overrated restaurant. I’ve been to dozens of Indian restaurants in Japan, Korea, and here in Germany and this by far is probably the worst. I recommend the Royal Aroma at Kaiserslautern instead.
Their chicken in the butter curry was dry and the curry lacked flavor. Their lamb on the tikka masala was tough. Their onion bhaji was soggy and we didn’t get the dipping sauce for it. Their garlic naan also lacked flavor. Lastly, their dishes are way too overpriced based on the low quality. Staff members were also having a heated argument in the back that you could hear up front...unprofessional.
Their rice and mango lassi were okay. That was about it. This place left me very much underwhelmed.
Edit: It’s Mr., not Ms. Although my wife picked up the food, I’m the one who does the rating. No, I didn’t have a bad day and assuming so clearly shows your unprofessionalism. I don’t give ratings lightly. I don’t easily give 5 star ratings nor do I easily give 1 star ratings. You’d have to earn them. I’ve been a Google Maps rater for several years and I take my ratings seriously. After seeing your response, I was right to give your restaurant a 1 star rating. I recommend that instead of taking your frustrations out on customers, take criticism with a grain of salt and improve where improvements are needed. Your meat is of low quality...dry chicken and tough lamb. I suggest using chicken things and tendering the lamb longer. The garlic naan was soggy, which tells me they were precooked, not freshly made. Same with the onion bhaji.
Edit 2: I saw you edited your response. This is how you should have reacted the first time. Take criticism as an opportunity to grow vice attacking the critic. This is a good step forward and I appreciate it. I may return in the future to give your restaurant another...
Read moreThe restaurant has very friendly staff and a decent menu. The complimentary soup was delicious and so was our mango lassi. Rice came with the dishes and we were given a very good amount for two people. The food was tasty too but for the first time in our lives, our Vindaloo was not even mildly hot. Vindaloo is supposed to be one of the spiciest Indian dishes and while the sauce is very tasty, the heat was almost none existent. I get why it's not hot. I think because it's near a huge US military base so many Americans go there. A "real" Vindaloo probably won't sell well. When the waiter came and checked on us, we told him about the heat. He kindly took our meals and added more heat and also brought us a chilli sauce (which was very good and hot!) but the heat on the main dishes was still not how it's supposed to be. The other dish was a Madras. Also not as hot as it should be. We came from England and have been spoilt with choices of great Indian restaurants. Maybe we just should lower our heat expectations down.
Tasty dishes, the staff are super nice and prices are about average for Indian. Just keep in mind the lack of heat on the dishes that are traditionally supposed to be spicy. Ask them to make the dish seriously hot and maybe it'll come out right. Oh, cash only. There is an ATM machine just across from...
Read moreI am sorry, but I don't know why this place have so many positive comments. My visit to the restaurant was one of the worst experience ever. The food was not tasty at all, loooong time waiting (we waited 1h15 to get our aperitif ) and after around 40 min for the main meal. One of four people received his meal 20 min after everyone else received, almost when we wanted to pay. The food is not worth the price it has, rise was not delicious at all, meat taste ok. We have chosen chicken in 3 different souses and it all tasted the same. In overall, we left roughly about 110 euros for food we hardly enjoyed. The waiter didn't care about who ordered which drinks, just randomly brought it and put on a table. , The spoon and fork were dirty. When I asked to change it, a waiter brought a freshly washed spoon (and by freshly I mean it still had bubble soap on it). Place has no air ventilation, we had to open and close several times a window, because it was so foggy inside from a fry smell and fog. After all, and I am not over exaggerating, our hair and sweaters were all in this fry-oily-ish smell. I have goose bumps of horror when I think of this experience. Do not not not...
