Mu:d Coffee — Restaurant in Kiel

We had a late lunch at MU:D cafe for two people and ordered a bowl each with additional chicken. We were both very happy with our food: The vegetables were fresh, the avocado and mango were perfectly ripe: soft and flavorful, but not mushy. The ambiance is relaxed, comfortable and a bit cute (stuffed animals on the windowsill). Service was friendly and attentive. We were here for a late breakfast. Breakfast plates were really tasty, very good in terms of price/performance. You can sit outside spaciously on a nice street, in Kiel Altstadt. These are the pros. Cons on the other side, staff was very unexperienced. Communication was really difficult, while ordering food. Coffee portion was very very small and finally the toilets were not...

Es gibt keine zweite Chance für den ersten Eindruck. Leider wurden wir heute morgen ein wenig enttäuscht als wir um 11:00 Uhr zum Frühstücken ankamen. Erst haben wir ca 10 Minuten gewartet bis die Bedienung die Karten an Tisch brachte. Als wir dann bestellen wollten, sagte uns die Bedienung das es leider kein Brot mehr gibt. Statt uns das direkt bei der Ankunft zu sagen, ließ sie uns erstmal eine Halbe Stunde sitzen um uns dann mitzuteilen das wir leider nicht frühstücken könnten. Ersatzweise hatte sie uns zwar Waffeln angeboten, allerdings finde ich, das Waffeln nicht so gut zu Lachs, Schinken oder auch Rühreiern passt.

Daher ein kleiner Tip am Rande..: am Wochenende gehen mehr Leute Frühstücken als unter der Woche, weshalb die Kalkulation des Brotes am Wochenende für Frühstück deutlich höher angesetzt werden sollte..

Was allerdings sehr positiv aufgefallen ist, war das Ambiente in ruhiger, wenn auch leicht schattiger Lage, die Preise für die Mahlzeiten und das Aussehen der Speisen (das Auge isst mit).

Alles in allem leider nur 3 Sterne für den ersten Eindruck, würde es allerdings nochmal versuchen, da mich das „Gesamtpaket“...
