NEVER AGAIN despite good food and a pretty atmosphere. Let me start my sharing that this is not only a restaurant but a delicatessen store and an ice cream counter that from the outside seems inviting to look at fine food products, a place where you would assume you are welcome to stop in and take a look. We stopped in for a small meal and throughout became more and more uncomfortable as we seemed to be watched closely by the staff and the gentlemen whom I believe to be the owner. We watched him scare away more guests than he welcomed, some because they DARED to have their phones in their hand as they looked around, some because they apparently were trying to look at the menu before deciding to stay or not. This seems to be an offence here. He actually ran out from the kitchen and loudly scolded one lady who wanted to take a picture of the pretty establishment. I admit, there is a small sign about the size of my hand on the front door (which was open so hard to see and which I missed) showing that phones are not welcome. However, there must be a more friendly and less startling way to go about this. Some guests which I am sure are regulars joined in on the loud scolding and what could only be compared to a public shaming. As we watched the interaction in the restaurant it seemed to me (only my perception of the situation not a fact) that local guests were well cared for with hello and goodbye kisses and candies while 'other' guests seemed to be greeted differently if at all. At the end of our meal as we asked for the bill, and at this point were anxious to escape, we were treated to a 14 minute.. yes i times it on my... cell phone!!! speech about how bad phones are and how disrespectful and out of place people are to have them in their sacred restaurant. I came here for a pleasant meal not for a lesson from the head mistress. As we were discovering the area we were, I admit it openly and without shame, looking at a map on my phone, which must have been the offence that led to this lecture. I highly suggest that you simply look at how this establishment has responded to previous negative comments to begin to understand the atmosphere I experienced. It is honestly rare that I leave a restaurant actually regretting it so deeply with a pit in my stomach despite being well fed. It goes without saying that I did not get a candy when I let nor a goodbye from any...
Read moreSehr schön Eingerichte, doch leider sehr unfreundlich.
