Pizzeria Petro — Restaurant in Langen

I visited this establishment 2 times in short succession - once one a Sunday evening, then on the following Tuesday for lunch. There are plenty of reviews here who write about service, no answering phone etc. Yet when you are good, then you are good. When you are busy, you are busy. When you are at max capacity, you are at max capacity - and all for good reasons. Both times I ordered in at the establishment to take away. I understand why this establishment is so good. The pizza’s are spot on. What makes a great pizza Rosa, ie tomato sauce base is 1. the hydration of the dough. 2. the sauce. And 3. The cooking method. The sauce is 100% spot on. Very tomatoey taste with that right tang. The dough, for my liking, could be a little more hydrated, yet tip top as it is. And fired pizza, a match made in pizza heaven. Sunday evening was busy as - hectic! Returning on Tuesday at lunch time the pizza cook remembered me, and even my order from Sunday. Tuesday lunch time it was much quieter and we had time for a great chat. If ever in Langen and looking for a great pizza, then this is the place for you. HIGHLY recommend and hands down awesome value for money in December 2024 - a margarita pizza still...

Such an amazing place this place makes great pizza and pasta and a wonderful salad but most of all its the owners and staff we had a great conversation with the owner and he was telling us they had been in business for 35yrs they helped us with the menu as best as they could we ate at this place 2 times once when we got there and once before we left to come back home this little place is a hidden gem and if you are ever in the area you should make this a place to go to and try their pizza great price and all...

Eine kleine Stehpizzeria (mit ein paar Barhockern zum Hinsetzen). Bei meinem letzten Besuch vor ein paar Tagen habe ich gesehen, dass es inzwischen auch ein paar weitere Sitzmöglichkeiten gibt, die schienen jedoch nicht geöffnet gewesen zu sein. Meine Bewertung kann ich entsprechend nur auf den Hauptladen beziehen. Ich war auch nur da, um Pizza abzuholen. Ambiente ist halt wie es in einer solchen Stehpizzeria ist. Nichts Besonderes, aber völlig ok. Die wenigsten Leute werden hier allzu viel Zeit verbringen. Telefonisch genannte Abholzeiten passen. Personal sehr zügig unterwegs und super freundlich. Die Service-Bewertung bezieht sich entsprechend auch nur auf das, was ich in einer solchen Pizzeria erwarten kann. Gerichte werden im Holzofen zubereitet. Teig ist sehr gut, der restliche Belag ok. Käse nur Streukäse. Ich war zuvor vor ca. 4 Jahren zuletzt hier und hatte eine wirklich sehr gute Pizza im Gedächtnis behalten, die mich hat wiederkommen lassen. Die war es bei meinem jetzigen Besuch leider nicht mehr. Aber ok bis gut war sie dennoch. Preis-Leistung passt dafür absolut und fließt mit in die Bewertung beim Essen ein.
