Vanilla city Koch Inh. Johan Jorry — Restaurant in Mühltal

A wonderful discovery! We were looking for a restaurant that would offer very good and interesting cuisine in Darmstadt. Luckily we were able to reserve a table at Vanille in Mühltal, and discovered after we arrived that the multi-course menu is set, we just sat back and enjoyed the surprises that kept arriving. The owner explained to us that they actually only open when a group reserves a dinner with them, and our call asking for a table happened to fall on an evening that had two group bookings. We were given a quiet table, and the other guests were clearly there to enjoy the high quality cuisine (ie not rowdy as groups can often be). The wines were very good. I hope we will be lucky enough...

Hatten gestern einen tollen Abend mit einem Essen was traumhaft lecker war. Mega tolle Französische Küche und Die Weine zu den Gängen waren alle sehr passend und sehr gut ausgewählt . Es waren alle sehr freundlich und der Service war sehr gut - wir kommen gerne wieder ! Der einzige Stern Abzug gibt es für die Menge an ausgeschenktem Wein je Gang . Wir haben immer nur eine kleine Menge Wein ( nicht mal 0,2) im Glas gehabt ( an manchen Nachbartischen war das Glas bis voll gefüllt worden also wurde nicht einheitlich ausgeschenkt ) und das was wir dann noch nachgefordert hatten an Wein mussten wir separat bezahlen . Kein Problem für uns den Wein extra zu zahlen da wir wirklich dann einiges mehr getrunken haben , aber es sollte an alle Gäste einheitlich ausgeschenkt werden und dann auch vielleicht eine Info bereit liegen welche Mengen im Preis inklusive sind und was zu welchem Preis extra bezahlt...

We've been several times with large groups and it's fantastic every time we visit. The owners are very flexible on deciding the menu together with you beforehand, and you can guarantee that you and your group will have an excellent meal, fantastic atmosphere and of course very well chosen wine...
