I recently had the pleasure of dining at EL GRECO, and I wanted to share my positive experience with you. As someone from Chicago, USA, where Greek restaurants (and food) are abundant, I must say that your establishment stands out in terms of both atmosphere and cuisine.

My favourite go-to Greek of all time. I've been eating here for quite a few years, from the early days of take-away during Covid. El Greco was originally a different location but this new locale offers more comfortable seating and convenient parking right in front of the Rathaus. The bus stop is also just in front of the restaurant!

As for the food, I've sampled a few Greek food but nothing beats what El Greco has to offer. The quality and the portion is amazing. The pricing is fair and not to mention, the hospitality and the care taken by the owner and his lovely wife.

Ich habe lange überlegt, ob ich nun eine Rezension schreiben soll oder nicht. Letztendlich habe ich mich dazu entschieden, um andere vor einem negativen Besuch im El Greco zu bewahren. Angekommen sind wir im Biergarten und konnten uns einen Platz aussuchen. Eine Mitarbeiterin brachte uns Karten und einige Zeit später kam der Chef um die Getränke Bestellung aufzunehmen. Er verbreitete eine Hektik und verwies andauernd auf seinen Stress mit der Aufforderung die Getränke schneller auszusuchen und zu bestellen. Gleiches dann kurz später bei der Essensbestellung. Auf meine Bitte den Bestellvorgang nicht so hektisch und gastfreundlicher zu gestalten, wurde mir entgegnet, dass er keine Zeit für solche Diskussionen hat und ich jetzt was bestellen soll. Mit einer Wortwahl wie "Hopp Hopp" oder "Mach Schneller" wollte ich mich aber nicht bedienen lassen. Also haben wir die Essensbestellung sein gelassen und haben ausgetrunken. Beim Zahlen gab es dann nochmal den Hinweis seitens des Chefs, dass hier normalerweise anders mit Gästen umgegangen wird, ich allerdings im Stress nicht mit ihm diskutieren soll. Nochmal werde ich hier sicher nicht mehr hingehen. Wer trotz halbleerem Biergarten so viel Stress hat, dass die Freundlichkeit gegenüber dem Gast darunter leidet, sollte sich vielleicht ein anders Konzept überlegen. Ich weiß, dass es auch anders geht. In anderen Restaurants wird man trotz vollem Restaurant und vollem Biergarten immer höflich und freundlich behandelt und niemals blöd angeredet. Lieber gehe...
