The food was mediocre, my hamburger bun disintegrated as soon as I touched it and the potato wedges were soaking in fat.

Moreover, the service was very slow, after we ordered drinks it took over ten minutes before the waiter brought our drinks, we even saw the waiter casually chatting with other guests. Furthermore, in true German ignorance, card payments are refused. And not even kindly refused, but I was pointed to the door by an angry waiter who told me to hurry up (after they were very slow themselves all evening).

We arrived at the restaurant,nobody greeted us. As its the only near to our place that time we decided to stay and eat there. Food were ok but staff is not friendly not assisting us instead just come if we are ready to order, we are non German speakers and nobody spoke English to us, we used to google translate for the food menu. So we needed to take more time. We were also informed at the end of our meal that they have problem with their card reader luckily we have enough cash to pay. It would be great if customers will be given a heads up regarding card payment not working as it can cause inconvenience in the end. Nobody greeted us on our way back. Very cold...

I visited Magu with family around twelve years ago, possibly more. I remembered it due to the great food and the wonderful decor inside. On a return visit to Germany, I made sure to pass Mechernich on my route so I could return.

Walking in, it was just as I remember - inside, it is decorated like a public street complete with building fronts, cobbled streets and streetlights. I was worried the food may not have tasted as nice as I remembered, but to my delight, it was just as good.
