The cafe has a prime location overlooking the lake in the park, and multiple food stands are available to try out, and a small stage for live music, making it a cool place to enjoy a morning coffee with your partner or a cold beer during a nice evening.
Despite the attractive location and atmosphere, I would recommend bringing your own food and beverage if you plan to visit this cafe. My experience with buying items from the food stands was consistently subpar. The coffee, despite costing 6 euros, tasted more like water than actual coffee, and the cakes were not fresh and tasted like they had been in the fridge for a while. The pommes were very oily and not enjoyable, and I was disappointed with the quality of the food overall. The only item worth trying was their rostbratwurst.
Unfortunately, the prices at Gans am Wasser are expensive considering the poor quality of food on offer. Despite the excellent location and atmosphere, the food and beverage options at the cafe do not justify the high prices.
Overall, while Gans am Wasser has a cool and inviting vibe, I would advise visitors to bring their own food and drink to the park. It's a shame that the food quality and value for money didn't live up to expectations, and I cannot recommend this cafe for a satisfying...

The waiter looked at me and asked “Why?”, because by his word “I am producing extra waste”. I started explaining that we wanted just two coffees and go around the park and then we saw the cake and decided to have it. But I have eventually realized that the purpose of going there was enjoyed ourselves and the way how I felt during this order is against the whole point. We got eventually our order with an extra bitter look. I do not mind paying more for biodegradable cups. I do not mind not having this option. I do not mind paying extra. I do mind being served that way. I am giving Café Gans am...
Read moreReally nice place to meet up with friends or just relax by yourself with a nice coffee specialty and/or snack, after a nice walk in Westpark. I love coming here after a good walk with my dog, she loves when we take a table next to the water so she can watch the water fowl, turtles and carp swimming around.
The atmosphere is very nice and The Fries there are dusted with rosemary and made from fresh organic and regional potatoes, so delicious. I haven't yet eaten any of the other food, but I am betting it is also very good.
In the evenings when it is dark, the lights look so cool from across the...
