Hopfengarten — Restaurant in Munich

Used to be my favourite Biergarten for the past 8 years, however with new owners, the whole flair changed, unfortunately not necessarily for the better.

The Biergarten used to be open daily (with good weather) and until late night/last client. Right now it‘s usually closed, or if open, closes early. There’s been times I went there in season so May, June, after work around 20:00 for a quick beer and it was closed (website or google were saying it’s open till 22/23:00). Other times I’d go there during day and it would also be closed. One time I went with my family and we got the very last beer at 19:30 although they started closing at 21 and closed fully at 21:30 (Google maps said they‘re open till 23:00 and it was a super warm night with 24C). The new management doesn’t make sense. Sadly it‘s becoming more of a hipster place with lounges, aperol bar and digital screens that is open only when the owner decides to open it.

I do hope that things improve and you can really enjoy it there again with reliable opening...

Really small and peaceful beer garden. There is no Pfand for glasses and everything is quite unhurried. I most of the places are in the shadows as well so it is nice also during the day. Prices are also acceptable and really good if you compare it with the atmosphere. Highly recommended and a real alternative to the large beer gardens in the area. Ich war sehr enttäuscht. (Als Kind war das mein Wohnzimmer im Sommer.) Der Spielplatz ist jetzt herunter gekommen. BEIM ZAHLEN AN DER KASSE WURDE EINFACH AUFGERUNDET!?!?!!!! Selbst bei Kartenzahlung. Noch dazu, wenn überhaupt, Der Betrag belief sich auf 14,14€ die dann bitte abgerundet werden müssen. Und nicht auf. Kleinvieh macht auch mist... Ich fand und finde es eine Unverschämtheit. So etwas habe ich noch nirgendwo auf der ganzen Welt erlebt. Die Frau die vor den Toiletten sitzt fand ich sehr unhöflich, aufdringlich und unverschämt. Ich bin mit den Worten - das kostet 50 cent empfangen worden. Beim weggehen ( ohne die Toilette benutzt zu haben) rief sie mir hinterher, sind sie gast im Biergarten. Dann durfte ich gnädigerweise doch kostenlos die Toilette benutzen... Ich versteh ja wenn da jeder ausm westpark dort aufs klo for free gehn würde. Ok, dann geht das nicht. Aber man kann anders an die leute heran treten. Da der Besitzer meint er kann meine Bewertung einfach so als "hassrede" abtun und streichen lassen... Hat er sich getäuscht. Deshalb noch ein stern Abzug von zwei auf eins. Es war so und...
