I went to Chang's Bistro for lunch. The food was very good. The atmosphere somewhat basic and nothing special, but still nice and clean. No Christmas decorations which would have been a nice touch at this time of the year, even for an Asian restaurant. The owner or manager was very cold and rather unfriendly, both as I entered the restaurant and exited it. That's not how you should treat customers and very unusual for friendly Thai people. The waiter was friendly. Would I ever return: For the food yes, but considering the poor attitude of the owner or manager, no.

Wir hatten um 18:40h für heute Abend einen Tisch zum Essen reserviert und anschließend auch eine Reservierungsbestätigung per Mail bekommen. Im Restaurant angekommen teilte uns der Kellner, als wäre es selbstverständlich mit, dass er unsere Reservierung storniert hat und dass er nun keinen Platz frei hat. Die Mail haben wir dann tatsächlich gefunden sie wurde um 20:01h verschickt, als wir bereits unterwegs waren - unsere Reservierung war um 20:15h. Die Mails haben wir 14 Minuten vor Reservierung nicht akribisch gecheckt und die Nachricht deshalb nicht gesehen. Wir haben uns natürlich geärgert dass wir für diese Mitteilung extra hin fahren mussten. Nachtrag: Der Restaurantbesitzer hat bei uns angerufen und sich ausgiebig entschuldigt und eine Kompensation angeboten.

Wir waren hier öfters zum unkomplizierten aber feinen Mittagessen, solange die Mittagskarte im Bereich von 15-20 € lag. Seit 2024 haben aber die Preise auf der Mittagskarte dermaßen angezogen, dass es für ein Lunch zwischendurch nicht mehr in Betracht kommt. Wer bezahlt denn bitte 22 € für eine Currywurst mit Pommes? Das kann dann auch die inkludierte Suppe bzw. das Dessert nicht mehr rausreißen. Zwischen teuer und preiswert gibt es eben einen feinen Unterschied.
