CROSS im Englischen Garten — Restaurant in Munich

Without a doubt the food here is outstanding (the best entrecôte I've ever had) but the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. It was not a busy night, we waited so long to be given menus that we looked online and went up to the waitress to order before the menus ever arrived. We ordered mango juice which never came and asked for a jug of tap water. The waitress brought us a bottle of €6 water which we asked to be taken back (unopened) and exchanged for a carafe of tap water. This became an argument saying they could not do that. To resolve it they pretended to give us tap water then charged us on the bill for bottled water, then declaring they had given us bottled water in a carafe. This led to another argument and when they realised we would not pay for it they kindly took it off the bill. We got our food over an hour after being seated and received glares and stares from the wait staff throughout the night following the incident, as if it was our fault. Would I go back? It is a tennis club restaurant with an awesome terasse overseeing the tennis courts with plenty of sunshine ☀️ and a great slightly posh (in a good way) atmosphere. Love it there. Had a really good experience here. The food was good, the Chicken Schnitzel and the Linguine Bolognese could have used a little bit more seasoning, but there was salt and pepper at the table, so it wasn't really a problem.
