HANS IM GLÜCK - MÜNCHEN Südwink — Restaurant in Munich

Was previously at the location in nymphenburger strasse and must say I was very disappointed there. We went in, we were told to sit wherever we wanted and 20 minutes later got asked what we want even though the “restaurant” was basically empty. Everything looked messy and unorganized. But then I went here today... figured maybe it was just the previous location and I must say I was right! I came in and immediately an extremely friendly employee helped me find a table and told me the waiter would be right there. Less than a minute later (and yes i counted) i was asked if i already understood their menu. I said no considering last time it wasn’t explained at all. Great and easy to understand explanation and i basically took what the waiter recommended. The drink arrived practically immediately and was extremely delicious. Something with cucumber. The burger didn’t take very long after that and tasted just as good. The whole time i felt like the staff really knew what they were doing. You could immediately tell they cared whether my food was good and that they could come as soon as i needed any help. Quick, convenient, gorgeous ambience, great staff and lovely food. Worse service I’ve ever had!!! Im a pretty patient person, but I’m so angry I’m shaking and have to write this in English. I ordered a simple Snack Bundle - fries, cauliflower bbq wings with dip and an extra fries for our toddler. My other family members’ food all came - all three burgers- but our simple ass French fries never came! An hour and a half after arrival, family’s meals were getting cold and waiting for me and our 3 year old to receive our food..which NEVER came. Neither did an apology from the waitress or manager who didn’t even bother to explain where our food was until we complained. I try to be nice and understanding but this was just shit. Walked out, paid for the bill only for the food that was actually served (which if you ask me, we should have never paid for for ruining a Friday evening family meal. They offered us drinks but screw that - took 30 minutes just to wait for drinks…I wanted our food!). Again, I’ve never ever experienced this. Their employees need to be trained better, as well as their manager onsite who didn’t seem to know what to do and had to call some other manager for input. Total...

The food was nice! Just a bit expensive for what it was. You can find better burgers for less in the center of Munich. Also the waiters would forget our orders a few times and took ages to make a simple coffee. But the staff was still quite friendly. They can speak English. If you want your food quickly just take it away and it will be fast! Overall recommended if you have the 💵

PS: order the sweet potatoe fries if you can. The normal ones aren't worth it.

EDIT: normal fries are also good. You will get tired of the sweet...
