People with food allergies and dietary restrictions beware!
I had a handful of pleasant experiences here during 2021 and 2022. However, during 2023 I had issues multiple times that make me never want to go back again. With a seemingly well labeled allergen menu, I had much higher expectations.
Delivery wise- they have an option for certain dishes to be vegan or vegetarian. I always select vegan and twice had their green curry delivered with cheese, despite that particular item having no allergens listed on the menu.
My recent dine-in experience was terrible. Again ordered the green curry dish. Additionally, I ordered the mushroom pakora, verbally specifying to the server that I am vegan. Food is brought out and “mushrooms” come with 3 sauces so I ask which ones are vegan. First he tells me I can have two of the three, but then comes back to the table to tell me just to have one of them. Ok, why even bring the other sauces, but I digress. Turns out, they served me chicken pakoras instead of the mushroom, which I realized after eating one. The situation was handled poorly. I was laughed at and ridiculed when voicing my frustration with being served meat, as if it was no big deal. While I’m vegan by choice, I’m also lactose intolerant and cannot support a restaurant that doesn’t take food allergens or restrictions seriously.
I do not recommend...
Read moretl;dr: tasty food, very generous portions. Will return.
I have ordered from Suhag on Lieferando a few times but had never actually been there (thanks, covid). The outside area is quite vast and tables are able to be spread out as to maintain safe distances between guests.
I got some Weißbier, which they were kind enough to ask me whether it tasted good because they had new barrels (it did).
Shrimp pakoras and some garlic naan were my appetizers. Pakoras were tasty and crunchy and came with the cutest little sauce containers. Naan didn't seem terribly fresh, but I ain't no specialist.
Main dish was fish jalfrezi. Took me a while to decide because they have a gigantic menu (not really a fan of endless menus). Portion size was quiiiite generous, especially the rice. Was not able to eat all of the rice. It was however nicely cooked and seasoned (except for the coriander, I seem to have the gene that makes it taste like soap).
Service was attentive and fast enough for the food items. Not super fast for drinks for some reason (I got there early and was alone for some time). Prices are relatively cheap for the amount of food you get. I'll be going back to try some more of the...
Read moreEdit / new review: we were here with a Groupon coupon: 45€ for 2x starter, main & dessert - à la carte. When we arrived the boss(?) explained that à la carte means “from a special menu only”, which is untrue of course, but he didn’t care. Only after uncomfortably discussing it TWICE and almost leaving, he agreed on letting me choose the main from the vegetarian section of the normal menu. They also forgot our tea at the end, but after that experience - who even cares? I leave this at 2 stars, because our first visit was really great and the this time, the food was good too. But being treated that rude and simply not getting what you literally paid for in advance is highly unprofessional and made us feel really uncomfortable in the restaurant.
Review from last year: Very, very tasty! We had the Malai Kofta and Chicken Vindaloo plus some Garlic Naan and everything was absolutely delicious! Location is good and staff is friendly too, but it’s rather pricey (our total for two dishes, Naan bread plus two...
