VU JAA - Vietnamesische Küche — Restaurant in Munich

One of the worst Asian restaurants I have ever been to. From the entrance to paying the bill, we’ve experienced a super unfriendly service and impolite behavior from the older guy as our waiter. He acted as if he was forced to the job. No greetings, no thanks for giving some extra tipps even though the service and the food were absolutely terrible.

the restaurant decoration, table and atmosphere are very average. the waiting time till someone pay attention was long and we had to call him all the time. not yet finished ordering or asking questions about the dishes he has left our table to do something else which we found very rude. we have tried several appetizers and a few mains. The rolls in general were very greasy and not tasty. In the roll with shrimp we could not either find any shrimps or taste any. the main dish with vegetarian red curry was absolutely tasteless which was prepared terribly. No seasoning, no taste of curry and coconut milk, simply nothing. the duck in the bun was eatable but not tasty. The fried potato and shrimp were so greasy with no taste just oily.

To conclude, it was an absolute terrible experience with super bad service and foods at high prices. A simple Edamame costs more than or similar to a higher class Japanese or Asian restaurant.

Ich gehe seit Jahren zum Vorgänger, dem Pavillon und war dort immer sehr zufrieden. Ich wusste nicht, dass es nun ein neues Restaurant ist. Trotzdem wollte ich es ausprobieren, da ich ein Liebhaber fernöstlicher Speisen bin. Wir waren zu zweit und ich freute mich, dass die "alte Mannschaft" zahlreich vertreten war. Doch, was war passiert? Der Kellner, den ich seit Jahren kenne, war nicht wiederzuerkennen. Sonst immer nett, höflich und zuvorkommend nun das ganze Gegenteil. Mürrisch, unfreundlich und langsam. Ich bestellte 4 kleinen Frühlingdrollen mit Krebsfleischfüllung als Vorspeise und Ente mit Tamarindensosse. Mein Freund bestellte die Peking Suppe und Ente Curry. Bevor ich mich für eine Vorspeise entschied fragte ich den Kellner sehr höflich welche der Frühlingsrollen er empfehlen könne und welche am authentischen seien. Ich bekam als Antwort das er das nicht sagen könne, ich solle mich für irgendeine entscheiden. So ging es leider weiter.

Fazit:

Die 4 Frühlingsröllchen mit Taro und Garnelenfüllung fand ich ansich lecker. Leider wurde dazu ein Fertigdipp gereicht der gar nicht schmeckte. Sojasosse etc. suchte ich auch vergebens. Meine Ente schmeckte mir gar nicht. Das Gemüse zu weit durch, die Ente war trocken und die Sosse schmeckte wie in 100 anderen chinesischen Restaurants auch. Nichts besonderes und ein wenig Lieblos serviert. Ein Lob gibt es aber: Alle Zutaten waren frisch, selbst der Bambus.

Meinem Freund erging es nicht anders. Die Suppe hatte nichts eigenes, das Entencurry war fad. Und nachwürzen ging ja nicht.

Wir gehen dort nicht mehr hin! Ich persönlich kenne viele kleine Chinaimbisse wo meines Erachtens das Essen sehr viel besser schmeckt.

Schade, da ich immer über 100 km weit gefahren bin um dort zu Essen. Wir haben es immer mit einer München Shopping...

It is a very nostalgic and meaningful restaurant for me. We stopped in front of it by chance during a business trip and had dinner. While eating in its garden, the restaurant seemed strangely familiar. I spent my childhood in Munich Gauting in the 80s and 90s. I suddenly realized that this place was once the McDonald's we used to visit as a family all the time. I had a pleasant evening in an emotional sense; and I tasted delicious flavors. This beautiful coincidence and delicious flavors will remain with me as an unforgettable memory for a lifetime....
