Pizzeria-Osteria PanOlio — Restaurant in Nuremberg

Went here with a big group, the buffet was a nice option for everyone and the service seemed fine until at the end there were 8 extra drinks they claimed we didn’t pay for. Everyone in the group was certain they had paid for everyone and there was already some issues with their organization of how they accounted for orders with the group. In the end they made us pay for 34€ worth of drinks that we didn’t order. It would have reasonable if some one forgot to pay for a drink in our group, but the idea that 8 drinks by separate people where not accounted for is just ridiculous to me. They already had several organizational issues dealing with the large group so we are sure the drinks were somehow mistakenly added to our tab. The fact that they made us pay for them and not accept their own mistake was really ridiculous to me.

Like I said food was fine and servers where nice, but over charging by 34€ when it’s clear you simply where unorganized when taking orders is...

I had a bad experience at dinner today when the owner made a whole lot of fuss about a paper napkin decor that my 2 year old messed up.

I am sad to report this, as this was one of my favorite restaurants. A restaurant business is as much about hospitality as it is about the food. If you can't be polite with your guests, you are in the wrong business.

The worst part of this experience for me is that this owner is of Indian origin, as am I. He likely doesn't behave this way with other guests. It is ironic and terribly sad that I am complaining of discrimination from a fellow Indian, in Germany. I am familiar with the other owner, who is always pleasant and courteous.

I sincerely hope this is a one off experience, and you are treated better. I do not dissuade you from trying this place for the good food and usually good ambience. However, I must report this incident and can't just let it pass. I won't return to...
