Frankfurt am Main has long held a reputation as a city with a significant Korean population, suggesting it's a promising place to find authentic Korean cuisine. I recently visited a restaurant here where you can indeed taste traditional Korean food.
On my visit, I ordered a total of four different dishes and had a very full and delicious meal. One particularly good aspect of this restaurant is their approach to the menu depending on the time of day. While the evening menu appears to focus primarily on Korean BBQ options, the lunchtime menu offers a selection of various other Korean dishes, often at a somewhat more affordable price point.
If you choose to order a dish from the "Flame grilled" section of the menu, you can really taste the distinct flavour imparted by charcoal grilling. This cooking method gives the food a wonderful depth and aroma, resulting in a taste that I believe most people, regardless of age, would find very enjoyable.
Given the restaurant's popularity, it is highly advisable to make a reservation in advance, especially if you plan to visit during peak hours. While you can certainly choose to wait for a table without a reservation, having one means you can typically be seated and place your order immediately upon arrival, which makes for a smoother experience.
The only potential drawback I observed is the restaurant's location. Reaching it without a car can be rather inconvenient, involving a notably steep uphill walk. However, being situated in a somewhat elevated or mountainous area does offer the pleasant benefit of being ideal for a short, refreshing walk...
Read morejust had dinner there tonight. fantastic experience. it's not cheap like many have mentioned but like most also said it's worth it. if you live in the wiesbaden or frankfurt area the price of this meal shouldn't shock you or break your bank. bottom line is it really delivers on quality. are the meat quality exactly like what you see on their menu? no. is that unusual or wrong? no. you're not going to be sorry you went there for dinner. you get a bunch of starters to which if you like something and want more you can get it at not additional cost. i really liked the soup. the lettuce salad had a very nice dressing to it so i asked for another. one of the side dishes was raw crab. i've it before and wasn't crazy about it so we threw it on the grill. i would have liked a glass noodle dish i've had many times before and just love but they didn't have it. the meats were all good. i chose to substitute one of the meat choices with a pork i saw on the menu. i'm glad they were willing to accommodate. when the grate got caked with char from cooking they came and swapped out a new grate. if they see you overcooking your food and need help they'll come put out the fire. the service was just really on top of it. each dish was well prepared. they just spent time and effort where a lot of restaurants wouldn't so i was happy to pay their price. i'd go back again and soon. i've paid for several meals well over 100 euro and felt ripped off. not tonight i didn't. i walked away well fed and happy. thanks for...
Read moreThis place was recommended to me by a lot of people and after going there I am really not sure what the whole hype is about. We booked over the phone for a group of 10 and the restaurant offered us a private room for a fee of 40 euros. We declined, however the room was given to us free of charge despite the fact that 3 of our friends had to cancel last minute. Here all the positive things ended unfortunately.
As we were quite far from the main room, it was really hard to get someone to come us for orders, drinks etc. The button provided was working, but half of the time no one was coming to us.
We all went for a big meat plate to share and unfortunately around half of the meat served had a lot of veins and fat in it which made it quite complicated to eat. On the other hand, some meant types offered were really good and melted in the mouth. For the price of 80 euros per plate we all expected a little more.
Meat came with a lot of Korean dishes free of charge, however when we asked how we should eat the crab, one waiter just told us that he didn’t know and we had to wait for another one to explain. We also asked to have all the dishes explained and this wasn’t done. After some time, we asked for some additional kimchi and salads and they just forgot about it.
In the end, they just brought the bill despite us not asking (it was late, but still around 30 mins to close time)
I am not sure I will be back, cause all the positive things do not outweigh the price and need to travel 30...
