Restaurant Austernfischer — Restaurant in Südtondern

I've been there today, ordering the fish n chips and it was the most disappointing fish and chips I have seen in a long time. I am a chef myself with 20 years experience in some 9 different countries and some 25 different employers. So I have seen a fair amount of bad fish n chips but those frozen fish nuggets were just sad. Also when they came to my table they were still cold in the middle. Needles to say they were tasteless. So was the "tatar sauce" or whatever that was. The fries were missing salt and only had some silly paprika powder on them. The dish came with a slice of orange? And a leave of Lollo Rosso on which you could see the dirt... So it hasn't even seen water.

I ate it all since I travel by bicycle and I just needed some food inside of me. Once the waitress asked if it was ok (after the meal), I told her it was pretty bad. I've explained to her what's wrong and when I mentioned the battered fish was a frozen product, she said "well, yes. We do not make them" with a look as If I'd be crazy to suggest a fish restaurant in a fisher village would manage to do the simplest fish dish ever, from scratch. Then she walked... I'd suggest you train your staff properly and actually serve some food you can be proud of. But I get it. Tourists are one timers anyway, so I assume it doesn't matter. Also the staff generally looked pretty unhappy. Can't blame them though if they eat the same food you serve for your guests....

Meine Mutter ist sehr regelmässiger Gast im Austernfischer. Seit gestern leider nicht mehr. Die erste Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Corona-Erfassungsbogen durch den Kellner erfolgte schon sehr missmutig. Bei der Getränkebestellung ignorierte die Kellnerin die mehrfach getätigte lauten Aussagen meines Bruders "DER WEIN IST FÜR MICH" und stellte mir den Wein hin.. Genug Wassergläser zur grossen Wasserflasche wären vermutlich auch nur die Kür. Alles nicht so schlimm, aber leider ging es dann so weiter. Leider bekam mein Bruder einen rohen und kalten Kabeljau. Sonst wirklich nicht sehr kritisch in kulinarisch Dingen, wand er sich dann in einer "fast entschuldigen Art" an den Kellner, der den Teller mitnahm, aber erstmal an 2 anderen Tischen mit dem Teller Bestellungen aufnahm. Nach wenigen Minuten kehrte der Kellner zurück, um uns folgendes mitzuteilen. Zitat: "Der Koch sagt zwar der Fisch sei durch und nicht roh, aber dann machen wir ihnen halt nochmal neu." So etwas hab ich noch nie erlebt. Wir haben das Essen meines Bruders dann abbestellt und sind sehr enttäuscht weitergezogen. Sehr schade. leider inzwischen eine...

For a place with oyster in its name... The oyster deluxe was the biggest ripoff and disappointment ever. 4 of the 6 on the dish don't even come with oysters and the ones with did no taste fresh either. The soup was pretty much hot water with tomato paste, with some creme on top for presentation. The extra star comes from the kid's baked pasta which actually...
