If you anticipate a warm welcome from the waitresses, prepare to be disappointed. My dining experience left much to be desired. Opting for the Cordon Bleu with fries and salad, accompanied by a beer totaling 20 euros, I was met with underwhelming results. The Cordon Bleu arrived overcooked and disappointingly dry, lacking any distinct flavor. The fries were equally underwhelming, lacking in taste, and the decision to serve a tomato and mayonnaise sauce in a plastic package reminiscent of fast-food chains was mind blowing. who in the hell does that? The salad, albeit dressed, failed to impress with its lackluster taste. To add insult to injury, the price of a mere 0.5L beer soared to nearly 5 euros. Considering the overall lack of satisfaction and the steep pricing, I'm not going there again!

The Hackbraten (meatloaf) as one of the lunch specials is what made us choose Wirtshaus zum Erdinger today. It was perfect. It was the best meatloaf I've ever had in Germany. While I'm used to American meatloaf made out of ground beef only, this one (probably either all ground pork or half beef) was simply perfect. A light crust on top and perfectly cooked. The sides were also delicious and classic. Creamed peas and carrots were yummy. The mashed potatoes were magnificent. My thanks to the chef. It was a really good meal. Hubby had a classic pork cordon blue, which was also excellently made. To top it all off, the staff was friendly, efficient and all-around excellent. Even the busker who was playing his accordion on the Wettbachplatz made this not too hot summer's day entertaining.

Tons of seating here, mostly outdoors. We went on a busy Sunday for lunch. They only had two servers working so we had to waiz quite a while, but that seems par for the course in Germany. The poor guy was practically running trying to serve everyone. Everything on the menu looked very yummy. I have to try the steak almost wherever I go. The sauce was more tomato-ey than a normal gravy that comes with steak here, and the steak was a tad crispy on the outside which lent it a sweet/burnt taste that I don't care for but others might. The croquettes were cooked very well and soaked the gravy right up. We also ordered a pretzel to split, and it came out nice and warm which was nice with a side of butter. Altogether, very yummy and would return!
