You can go to Anno 1897, if you want: to be treated like a beggar not as a customer of restaurant, please go to non smoking hall of Anno 1897 and talk to with the waitress with short dark hair. She was very unkind and unfriendly. to give an order without right that you can order what you want to, without time to decide. If you ask time to decide menu, the waitress becomes angry. to play menu hunt (not treasure hunt) in a restaurant without waitress. If you find the menu, a waitress with short dark hair will suddenly comes up and shout to you "Was ist denn los?" But she never comes to you to take an order. It was much better to have Friday night dinner in KFC where the staffs are not nervous. *Situation : Even though we waited 20 minutes in the hall, nobody came to take an order. So we had to ask a waiter in a bar (also not easy to find him), outside of the hall, and asked some food, using menu that we found for ourselves. And then we waited to have dinner, a waitress with dark short hair suddenly came to us. She said, although we had ordered, we have to make an order again because she is kind of a master of the hall area. So we explained that we already talk to with other waiter because we couldn't find anybody for 20 minutes in the hall. Without saying Sorry or Es tut mir leid, she just emphasized that she has 'only two arms and two feet' that are not enough to handle the hall. Even though her attitude and speech were very rude, we gave an order again. The waitress said one menu cannot be with sauce that I ordered. So we asked her that we need a few minutes to decide menu. She drew a long breath and didn't welcome. She looked like quite disappointed and angry. We felt that we don't have right to order what I want to eat. That's why we had to get out of store and she shouted to us "Danke schoen, tscuess" very loudly, over and over, as if she was happy that we leave the restaurant. I guess she wants to take an order only when she wants to, what...

Summary: Great service, good location, robust menu of really good food, and reasonably priced.

The small salad before my meal was excellent. For my entrée, I had the "Hähnchenbrustfilet mit Käse überbacken, dazu Reis mit Sahne-Zwiebelsauce und Salat" (meaning "Chicken breast filet topped with cheese, served with rice in a creamy onion sauce with salad"). It's the fifth from the bottom on the section labeled "International Specialties". It's solid. Think of chicken alfredo but with rice instead of pasta.

The place is cute, the prices are quite reasonable, and I can't say enough about the service. (Customer service is notoriously bad here in Germany, especially compared to the U.S.) So I'm delighted to share that Tina is an excellent server. She comes by frequently, she has a great attitude, and she speaks English very well.

Anfang August habe ich mich an einem Freitag Abend mit einem Freund im Biergarten dieses Restaurants getroffen. Wir haben mehrere Getränke zu uns genommen und das Ambiente war eigentlich ganz okay.

Um fünf Minuten nach Mitternacht haben wir zum Abschluß jeweils ein Bier bestellt und auch zügig bekommen. Fünf Minuten später kam die Bedienung und kassierte schon mal ab. Danach meinte sie recht freundlich, daß wir den Biergarten nun verlassen möchten, wir aber unser Bier noch austrinken könnten. Wir dachten, wir hätten noch etwas Zeit, da der Biergarten laut Homepage bis 1 Uhr geöffnet hat. Es war ein halber Liter und ich bin keiner, der jeden Abend sein Bierchen trinkt. Vorher habe ich Cola getrunken, mein Freund auch irgendwelche nicht alkoholischen Getränke. Um 0:15 Uhr kam dann der Chef und meinte, daß wir jetzt sofort den Biergarten verlassen müssen. Das war keine höfliche Bitte, sondern ein Befehl mit entsprechendem Tonfall. Sie hätten geschlossen. Darauf machte ich ihn auf die Öffnungszeiten auf der Homepage aufmerksam. Der Chef bezweifelte, daß die Zeiten so auf der Homepage stünden und bezichtigte mich der Lüge. Wir haben heute den 26. Oktober und die Öffnungszeiten stehen so immer noch auf der Homepage. Der Chef wurde immer ungehaltener und so blieb mir nichts anderes übrig, als das Glas wegzuexen, bevor er noch handgreiflich wird. Er meinte noch, der Schwabengarten in Leinfelden hätte auch nicht länger auf. Der hat zwar auch bis 1 Uhr geöffnet, aber was soll's. Das Verhalten des Chefs war absolut unprofessionell. In einem solchen Ton spricht man nicht mit seiner Kundschaft. Man hätte es bei einer freundlichen Bitte lassen und es damit begründen können, daß man früher schließt, weil nicht mehr viel los ist. Kurz vor unserem Rauswurf waren die letzten Gäste gegangen. Ich weiß nicht, warum es der Chef plötzlich so eilig hatte. Ich hätte es noch verstanden, wenn wir betrunken gewesen wären und Krach gemacht hätten, aber das waren wir nicht, da wir vorher keine alkoholischen Getränke zu uns genommen hatten.

Dieser Abend endete so jedenfalls sehr abrupt. Die Rezension schreibe ich jetzt, weil mich dieser Vorgang immer noch beschäftigt. Eigentlich habe ich keine Lust dazu, aber Andere dürfen ruhig wissen, was sie dort eventuell erwartet. Da werden wir sicher nicht mehr hingehen. In den letzten Jahren war ich mehrmals zum Essen und Trinken in diesem Restaurant. Aber so lasse ich mich nicht behandeln. Die zwei Sterne stehen für das Ambiente.
