Spicetripping Foodtruck — Restaurant in Tübingen

Since I started living in Tübingen, I always wished for an authentic south Indian food experience, despite the many 'Indian' restaurants here with nothing but punjabi cuisines. After having food from this cute little food truck twice, I can confidently say that I am completely satisfied. The food was tasty, the staff were polite and the waiting time was not a problem.

Of course the food tastes less hot than I would prefer, but I can totally understand their situation serving a majority European customer base. Also guys, please don't dumb down Indian food's spiciness as just that burning in your mouth. Go see any Indian cooking video and I would bet that you would be surprised to see the wide variety of spices that we use to get that authentic indian experience.

P.S. Always remember to keep the pappad separate from the rest of the food if you are not eating it right away. It absorbs water very quickly and go from crunchy to soggy...

Just love Pratibha and Alok's authentic South Indian food. This is such a breather from the Indian food that is available in Germany. There's so much more to Indian food and South Indian food is one of them. Spice tripping does an excellent and sincere job in presenting homely south Indian fare. If I were to choose only one, my most favorite item from their kitchen is the highly aromatic and authentic Sambhar. I’ve visited this truck several times and tried many of the foods they offer, including rice bowls and dosas. The food is really tasty and feels like home. Some of the side dishes like the fried chillis and the beetroot pachadi are almost never available anywhere outside India, so it is really heartwarming to be able to eat those here in Germany.
