A must when you are in Ettal! Lovely bakery – yum! Great baked goods. Also have a small market where convenient type items can be picked up. We enjoyed the deli sandwiches they made for us – great rolls & breads are offered. Then you could pick from local meats and cheeses to create your sandwich (we enjoyed some cheese from the local Ettal cheese cooperative – Schaukaserei) Hot and cold drinks were also available. The baked goods were delicious and the sandwiches were just great and so reasonably priced. There is a small seating section as well (about 6 tables which was a nice café area) There are also two restrooms which was helpful. We received warm hospitality and great service. We were assisted with our purchases in English which was helpful. Seems like a local family run business. Price is very reasonable and friendly service. We asked for brötchen topped with local cheese (with some salad, pickles). Very generous amount of cheese and super delicious! We had that 3 days in a row as breakfast and took one more for lunch to-go. Their coffee is although a slight disappointment (from automatic machine) but I guess its not a demand to serve barista coffee in the area anyway. Still okay for a quick caffeine fix. We came here every day during my husband’s and my hiking trip around Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and it quickly became a highlight of our stay. The bakery offers excellent sandwich options, and crazy good pastries qnd tartas. Also lovely views from the café, adding an extra charm to every visit.
